Fitbit's new app update brings changes to Heart rate section

Fitbit has refreshed the Heart rate section in its app. The update has appeared for some Android users with wearables like the Charge 2 and Pixel Watch 2 on Fitbit app version 4.25.2. Despite the iOS app receiving update version 4.26 on September 16th, it does not appear that these customers can see the latest changes.

With Fitbit app version 4.25.2, the name of this area has changed from “Heart rate” to “Heart”, though no amendments have been made to the card shown on the Today page. On the Heart page, your Day data is now prioritised over your Week data, though you can still select Week, Month, 3 Months or Year views using tabs near the top of the screen. When looking at the Week, the first segment shows a similar graph, though the BPM measurement is now above this and far more prominent. Changes to the chart include days of the week noted with a single letter, and it appears that you can no longer scroll through this chart.

On top of this, you can now view your cardio fitness score over time; this metric can be found at the bottom of the Heart page, but only from the Day view. On each tab, there are Health assessments including Irregular rhythm notifications, ECG, High heart rate notifications, and Low heart rate notifications. These changes to the Fitbit app follow a redesign of the sleep section, which launched earlier this year and faced many customer complaints. It remains to be seen when the refreshed Heart area will roll out to more customers.
