New tri-folding smartphone render hints at design of Xiaomi\'s Huawei Mate XT rival

According to widely-regarded leakerDigital Chat Station, Xiaomi has patented an answer toHuawei's world-firsttri-foldsmartphone. The tipster has shared a render apparently based on the IP, which might showcase the device's potential similarities and differences to theMate XT.

It is clear from the images that bothsmartphones wouldfoldthe same way, with a second, double-edged hinge to convert the first third of the device into a front screen when closed. However,Xiaomi'stake on the form-factor is depicted as having a camera hump most like that of an earlyMix Foldat the time of writing.
