Epic Games is giving away another popular indie game but only for a short time

Epic Games has now revealed its plans for its next free game giveaway. As usual, the storefront has shared the information ahead of schedule. In the meantime, it is offering two titles at a substantial reduction, full details of which we have covered separately.

As of September 26 though, Epic Games will pivot to discounting The Spirit and the Mouse, which centres around Lila the mouse in a fictional French village. Aimed at gamers of all ages, the game focuses on solving puzzles and missions to restore electricity to the village of Sainte-et-Claire. Incidentally, Epic Games has decided to include the title in its free game program exactly two years after its initial release.

Currently, the game has received a 'very positive' rating from almost 450 user reviews on Steam. Likewise, 86% of critics on OpenCritic recommend The Spirit and the Mouse, which includes reviews of its PlayStation and Nintendo Switch releases (curr. $79.99 on Amazon).
