3i S10 Ultra robot vacuum and mop arrives with unusual water recycling system

The 3i S10 Ultra robot vacuum and mop is now crowdfunding at Kickstarter. While not well known globally, 3i is a brand from PICEA Robotics, the ODM behind devices like the Xiaomi Robot Vacuum S20.A similar model, the H1 Pro, was shown at CES.

3i claims that the S10 Ultra is the first robot vacuum to feature water recycling, meaning users do not need to top up the clean water tank. The WaterRecycle system takes wastewater from previous cleaning jobs and extracts water from the air. This water is cleaned using a heating and condensing process, with solid waste extracted into the dust bag. 3i tries to demonstrate the system’s efficiency in a YouTube video (below). Mopping is carried out with a self-cleaning roller mop, similar to the SwitchBot S10, rotating 330 times per minute. Plus, the mop can extend to reach the edges of a room. Other features of the vacuum include 13,000Pa suction power, anti-tangle brushes, dToF LiDAR navigation, app-based controls or Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant voice commands.

At the time of writing, with 29 days to go, the campaign has gained more than 180 backers, raising over $230,000. A Super Early Bird Pledge for the 31 S10 Ultra is HK$8,565 (~$1,099); this is said to be around a $800 discount on the $1,899 RRP. The company is shipping anywhere in the world, with delivery currently estimated for November. It is worth noting that this is 3i’s first Kickstarter project and, as with any crowdfunding campaign, there is no guarantee that backers will receive the product or there could be delays.
