After the launch of Strix Point laptops, we are now seeing mini PC manufacturers announcing their new Zen 5 products. The Beelink SER9 was among the first, and now, the company has made it available to purchase. As for the price, it's much higher than the brand's top-end Hawk Point offering.
More specifically, the SER9 with AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370, 32 GB of RAM, and 1 TB of storage is currently available for $999.99. To compare, the Beelink SER8 with Ryzen 7 8845HS, a top-end Hawk Point APU, goes for $649, and it comes with the same memory and storage configuration.
However, this soaring high price tag for the Strix Point mini PC isn't surprising. As we've covered earlier, a representative from GPD claimedthat AMD is selling the Strix Point APUs at 2x the price of Hawk Point chips. This automatically makes laptops and mini PCs featuring the new chips costly to manufacturers.
Moreover, AOOSTAR recently announced the Chinese pre-order price for GEM10 370, which comes with the same Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 processor, and it also has a steep tag. However, compared to the AOOSTAR's Strix Point mini PC, the SER9 comes with USB4, making it a less ideal option for eGPU setups.
The GEM10 370, on the other hand, has an OCuLink port, a much better solution. So, if AOOSTAR launches its new Strix Point mini PC at the same price as the SER9 in the global market, it will be a much better purchase (barebone Phoenix Point GEM10 curr. $399 on Amazon).
The above is the detailed content of Beelink SER9 with Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 becomes available for purchase, but at a steep price. For more information, please follow other related articles on the PHP Chinese website!
