Samsung Galaxy S24 FE price leak teases near-flagship US pricing

The Samsung Galaxy S24 FE has so far appeared in a number of leaks and rumours that all suggested it would be a competent flagship killer with an updated processor, larger display, and more RAM. However, a new leak from OnLeaks reveals that the S24 FE might be a disappointment not because of its specifications, but rather because of its launch price.

Supposedly, the Galaxy S24 FE will cost around $649 for the base 128 GB version and $709 for the 256 GB version. If true, that represents a $50 price increase over last year's $599 model and also puts the new device — effectively an upper-mid-range smartphone, according to the specs — a $150 cheaper than the vanilla Galaxy S24. While that's certainly not a tiny price difference, it might not be worth it for buyers of the S24 FE.

The last-generation Galaxy S23 FE was already heavily criticised for its launch price being too close to its flagship counterparts. With the launch of the Galaxy S25 and S25+ around the corner, the original Galaxy S24 will likely start to see price cuts way below the current $799.99 MSRP. The Galaxy S24 Plus is already discounted by 20% to $798 on Amazon. That said, it also bears mentioning that the Galaxy S23 FE's price dropped considerably a short few months after the device launched. The S 24 FE's supposed 6.7-inch display may also position it to compete more closely with the Galaxy S24 Plus instead of the base model S24, which is a veritable compact phone in today's smartphone landscape.
