Ghost of Yotei: Ghost of Tsushima successor announced for a 2025 launch

For the most part, today's PlayStation showcase was lackluster as it didn't showcase much in the way of first-party titles (and no Bloodborne remaster). However, we finally get our first look at a new game from Sucker Punch: Ghost of Yotei. It succeeds 2024's Ghost of Tsushima and will launch sometime in 2025. As its name suggests, it will be set in the Yotei region of Japan.

It also introduces a new female protagonist called Atsu. Sucker Punch says it has"so much more to show" and will reveal more information about her in subsequent promotional material. For now, the company has confirmed the game takes place ~300 years after Ghost of Tsushima. While Jin Sakai might not make a direct appearance in Ghost of Yotei, he is very likely to be referenced in some capacity.

Unlike its predecessor, Ghost of Yotei will be exclusive to the PlayStation 5 and likely launch with PlayStation 5 Pro enhancements out of the box. The trailer suggests there could be animal companions in the game and a bunch of new mechanics not found in Ghost of Tsushima.
