Lenovo Legion Go Lite: Rumoured gaming handheld refresh revealed in new leak
Rumours about Lenovo replacing theLegion Go(curr. $598 on Amazon) have been circling for months now. To recap, Windows Central commented on the development of a so-called 'Lite' model in May, shortly before ASUS announced the ROG Ally X. Subsequently, Lenovo appeared to reference two models in an FAQ post, which it promptly dismissed as a mere error.
However, the company's dismissal of rumours arguably still left room for the release of a Legion Go Lite. To that end,NITRXXhas now posted images of what it implies is a new Legion gaming handheld. Embedded below, the images look nothing like the existing Legion Go. Instead, the device shell looks closer in design to the AYANEO KUN, which has a 0.4-inch smaller display than the Legion Go.
On the one hand, the shell below has fixed controllers, which is just one of the big changes from the firstLegion Go. Consequently, the device does not need dedicated mouse hardware, which Lenovo advertises as 'FPS Mode' on its first gaming handheld. On the other hand, the so-called Legion Go Lite may feature a much smaller trackpad too, which appears to sit beneath its right analog stick. Additionally, the shell has fewer rear-mounted buttons and repositioned auxiliary buttons for triggering services like Legion Space. While it remains to be seen whether the shell shown below is accurate, Lenovo is expected to release the Legion Go Lite before the end of the year.
