GPD Duo: Unusual laptop revealed to weigh over 2.2 kg in early unboxing video

The GPD Duo is not here quite yet, despite being announced months ago. Instead, the company is in the throes of continuing to tease the laptop on social media before releasing it next month. In the meantime, a YouTube channel has got its hands on unboxing footage, which we have embedded below.

For reference, the YouTube channel in question is NITTRX, which recently divulged information about the long-rumoured Legion Go Lite. Ultimately, the design and hardware of GPD's latest device was already known. However, NITTRX has revealed a few additional details that were unknown until now.

For example, the GPD Duo weighs over 2 kg, with a weigh of 2.284 kg shown at 1:10 into the video below. With that being said, the bundled charger brings the device's carry weight totals 2.545 kg with its charger and USB Type-C cable factored in. Additionally, GPD has included two fans that pull air through a huge grille on the bottom and exhaust through individual grilles on the Duo's rear.

Somewhat unsurprisingly, the Duo is rather top-heavy. As a result, the two displays will cause the Duo topple over unless they are placed at a specific angle. GPD will bring the Duo to Indiegogo on October 8, starting at $1,270 and $1,650 with Ryzen 7 8840U and Ryzen AI AI HX 370 APUs, respectively.
