The Redmi Note 14 series launched in China on September 26, and this lineup has three new phones. Among them are two Promodels, which aim to deliver good upper mid-range performance. The camera setups on these two phones are good on paper, but it seems the story won't be the same for their global versions.
Xiaomi Time has seemingly gained access to the firmware bin files that will be running on the global variants of the Redmi Note 14 Pro and Note 14 Pro . According to the screenshots shared, the global variant of the Pro model will reportedly have a 200 MP Samsung S5KHP3 as the primary camera on the back.
For reference, the Chinese variant of the same phone comes with a 50 MP Sony IMX882. The ultra-wide cameraand the macro sensor on the global Redmi Note 14 Pro are expected to remain the same.
As for the Redmi Note 14 Pro , the Chinese variant features the 50 MP OVX8000 as the primary camera. However, Xiaomi Time reports that this sensor will also be swapped with the same 200 MP Samsung S5KHP3 on the global variant. What's more interesting is that the international model is said to ditch the optical telephoto sensor.
Per the bin files uncovered by Xiaomi Time, the global variant of Note 14 Pro will have a 2 MP OV02B10 macro camera instead. The Chinese variant, in comparison, launched with a 50 MP Samsung JN1 sensor, which offers 2.5x optical zoom. This would be a major downgrade for the top-end phone within the series.
That said, even though the bin files found by Xiaomi Time may be legitimate, you should treat this as you would other rumors. Nothing is set in stone until Xiaomi officially details the global Redmi Note 14 series.
