Oppo confirms Find X8 will support 50W magnetic wireless charging

Oppo has been teasing the Find X8 for a good while now, and in the latest round of teasers, the company has officially revealed one key aspect of the upcoming flagship. The phone is now confirmed to have support for 50W magnetic wireless charging. This is something that Digital Chat Station has hinted at before, and it seems the tipster was correct.

In the official teaser video, Oppo has also showcased one of its new accessories for the Find X8, a power bank with magnetic wireless charging. What's rather interesting is that the same accessory is shown to work with the iPhone 16 Pro. The video further shows that Oppo's wireless charging pad works with Apple's latest flagship phone (INIU 10K MagSafe power bank curr. $26.99 on Amazon).

That suggests all the MagSafe accessories available for the Apple iPhone 16 Pro should work with the Oppo Find X8. It's unclear whether Oppo's implementation is based on Qi2, as, generally, that standard allows compatible phones to charge at up to 15W.

However, Qi2 is an open standard. This allows manufacturers to implement their own version of magnetic wireless charging based on it. Getting back to the teaser video, Oppo seems to have avoided showing the back of the Find X8, but a recent leaksuggests that the phone's rear will look quite similar to the OnePlus Open.

Other leaked features of the Find X8 include the flagship Dimensity 9400SoC, a software-enhanced implementation of Dynamic Island, and a 5,700 mAh battery. The phone is expected to launch on October 21 in China.
