There are pros and cons to this lot trait, and if you have certain DLC packs then you can stack up spooky traits for the ultimate in creepy experiences. Here's how.

What Is The On Hallowed Grounds Lot Trait?

On Hallowed Grounds is a new lot trait with the Life & Death expansion. Its description is:

This lot adds an exciting punch of terror to the otherwise daily mundane. Be it possessed TVs, netherworld treasures, or lowered bill - living or dead, there's something here for everybody.

In short, this translates to cheaper bills at the cost of some unpredictability on your lot. There are more things that can go wrong than just those listed in the description as well.

What Can Go Wrong In A House On Hallowed Ground?

The in-game description mentions possessed TVs and netherworld treasures, but these are just the start. Here's everything we've seen in a lot with this trait:

  • Possessed TVs - If your Sim watches the static channel, then they can get an unpleasant surprise which will leave them in need of a shower, stat.
  • Netherworld Fissures - These eerie blue fissures will appear at random around, and occasionally inside, your property. Usually, three or four at a time. Netherworld fissures can be reached into and there you may find both treasures, and tricks. Sometimes you'll collect a useful item, and other times you'll get an uncomfortable debuff from encountering something unexplained.
  • Power Outages - Random power outages will affect your house as well. These often last a couple of in-game hours and during this time you cannot use any electronic items. The power will return as randomly as it went.
  • Eerie Fog - The outside of your home will be surrounded by an eerie fog which also reduces the internal temperature, making Sim's breath visible inside.
  • Cheaper Bills - We can only assume the land was very cheap and by some miracle this saving was passed to your Sim.
