Pokemon Pocket: 8 Best Electric-Type Cards
Pokemon TCG Pocket has plenty of swift Electric-type Pokemon that can shock your opponent into submission. These Pokemon strike fast and can move around between the Active Spot and the Bench quicker than your opponent can pin them down. This makes it easier for you to prevent your opponent from taking any points while securing your own.
If you’re looking to build one of the best decks in the meta or even play around with some more surprising strategies, then the Electric-type is the perfect place to do it. So here are the eight best Electric-type cards in Pokemon TCG Pocket.
8 Elektross
Stun Your Opponent
Elektross is a Stage Two Pokemon, so you might find yourself needing a few turns before you can get it in play. However, if you do, you get a Pokemon with decent health that can Paralyze your opponent’s Pokemon half the time.
Thunder Fang does a decent 80 damage and if you manage to Paralyze your opponent’s Pokemon, they won’t be able to Retreat or use a Move next turn. This is a great way of stunning your opponent’s plays, protecting Elektross, and having easy prey for your Elektross to score a few points in the process.
7 Electabuzz
One Shocking Punch
Elektrabuzz may rely on a coin flip to reach its full potential, but it is not bad for what it is. It can do 40 damage with Thunder Punch but can deal double damage if you manage to get the coin flip right. However, if you get a bad coin flip, it will do 20 damage to itself; luckily, the base 40 damage will still go through.
This Pokemon also has a Retreat Cost of one, making it fairly simple to swap out. Any card that has a low enough Retreat Cost can be swapped out for free with the help of X Speed. So, while this may not be the toughest Pokemon, it still has some neat little tricks you can pull off to make it better.
6 Jolteon
Strike Multiple Times
Jolteon is one of the coolest looking Eeveelutions and in Pokemon TCG Pocket, it has a Move worth spamming on your opponent. For two Energy, Pin Missile will let you strike up to four times, dealing 40 damage for each successful coin flip.
The good thing about this Move is that there are plenty of chances to land on heads. So the odds are usually in your favor that you’ll at least get one or two heads in the process and do between 40 and 80 damage. If you’re really lucky, you can do up to 160 damage with this Move which is deadly for stronger Pokemon.
5 Zebstrika
When Lightning Strikes The Bench
Zebstrika is an excellent Pokemon to use when you want to strike at your opponent’s Bench. This Stage One Pokemon has one flexible move that can hit whatever you want called Thunder Spear, which does 30 damage to any of your opponent’s Pokemon whether it’s on the Bench or in the Active Spot.
Zebstrika is perfect for when your opponent retreats their damaged Pokemon. With so many Electric-type cards having a low Retreat Cost, you can easily bring this card in to deal that extra bit of damage needed to score you a point. This is even better when the Pokemon you’re targeting is an ex Pokemon, and the knockout counts for two.
4 Magneton
Charge Your Pokemon Quicker
Magneton has a unique Energy acceleration method that only works on itself initially but can be utilized better in the late game. Volt Charge lets you take extra Electric Energy from the Energy Zone and attach it to Magneton each turn. So while you get your Pikachu ex ready or any other Electric-type prepped, Magneton will be ready to switch in and do some damage.
Magneton can also act as a battery for your other Electric-type Pokemon with the help of Lt. Surge. So, while Magneton collects the Energy, Lt. Surge can redistribute it to your Raichu, Electabuzz, or other Magneton.
3 Electrode
Free Retreats
Electrode is often an underrated Electric-type Pokemon but in Pokemon TCG Pocket, it shines the most. Electrode is not the Pokemon you want as your ace Pokemon of the deck, but as support, it is easy to set up due to it being a Stage One Pokemon, and it can deal decent damage of 70 for two Energy.
Electrode’s best feature is that it can Retreat for free whenever you want to bring in your stronger Pokemon into the Active Spot. This makes it a very favorable choice for those who want a Pokemon that can hold its own but also be used strategically.
2 Zapdos Ex
Lightning Strikes Up To Four Times
Zapdos is a fantastic ex Pokemon, and it does everything that Jolteon does but better. For starters, it’s a Basic Pokemon, so there's no need to set it up with any Pre-Evolutions. It has a good HP count of 130, and it has two Moves it can use allowing for a bit more flexibility.
Thundering Hurricane is a four Energy Move that requires you to flip four coins. Each time you land on heads, you can deal 50 damage to your opponent’s Active Pokemon. This will quickly add up. Zapdos ex is an excellent card to run as support for Pikachu ex or in its standalone deck.
1 Pikachu Ex
Send Your Opponent Blasting Off
With a low Retreat Cost, no Evolutions needed to reach its full potential, and an Energy requirement that doesn't break the bank, Pikachu ex is the ace Pokemon for one of the best decks in Pokemon TCG Pocket. You also have a decent selection of card art to choose from.
Circle Circuit does a solid 90 damage if your Bench is full. This encourages you to play more Pokemon in your deck as you build your defenses while also managing to strike hard. Pikachu ex is not just one of the best Electric Pokemon in the game, but also one of the best cards in general to invest into for future wins.
