XION Announces 'Believe In Something' Token Airdrop to Reward Early Contributors

Layer 1 blockchain without a native wallet, XION, has announced its first token airdrop, “Believe In Something,” to reward early contributors. The airdrop will allocate up to 5% of the total supply of $XION tokens, which equates to 10 million tokens.

Details of the $XION Token Airdrop

The “First Spark” airdrop, also known as the “Believe In Something” airdrop, will target contributors from over ten ecosystems and communities. Around 69% of the tokens will be distributed to active users, developers, and members of XION’s testnet and Discord community. This also includes participants in initiatives such as EarnOS, BlockX, and XionEverywhere, as well as Galxe campaigns.

Other key beneficiaries of the airdrop are Gigachad Community, Mocaverse Community, Monad Community, etc.

Eligibility for the airdrop was determined through snapshots taken on March 6 and July 15, 2024. Furthermore, XION analyzed both on-chain and off-chain data to ensure fair distribution. Factors considered include transaction volumes, engagement consistency, and participation in XION projects.

XION Testnet Developments

The testnet of XION has been critical in stress testing its blockchain infrastructure ahead of the mainnet launch. Participants in the testnet engaged with custom logic upgrades, Inter-Blockchain Communication (IBC), and user experience refinements. The testnet also served as a platform for applications like EarnOS and BlockX, which helped improve XION’s blockchain infrastructure. With community engagement from over 150 countries, the blockchain is now ready to be deployed in the real world.

Anti-Sybil Measures

To ensure fair distribution, XION has also implemented advanced anti-Sybil mechanisms. The development team worked with experts to identify and exclude addresses that were flagged for suspicious activity. Clustering analysis, machine learning models, and checks against compliance databases were among the techniques used. However, users who believe they were unfairly excluded from the airdrop can submit appeals via an official form.
