Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Jamui in Bihar on Monday to commemorate the Janjatiya Gaurav Divas, which marks the commencement of the 150th Birth Anniversary Year celebrations of Dharti Aaba Bhagwan Birsa Munda.
Modi will unveil a commemorative coin and postal stamp in honour of Bhagwan Birsa Munda tomorrow morning. He will also inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for multiple development projects worth over 6,600 crore rupees aimed at uplifting tribal communities and improving infrastructure in rural and remote areas of the region.
Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Jual Oram informed the media in Jamui that the Prime Minister will inaugurate two Tribal Freedom Fighters’ Museums and two Tribal Research Institutes which are intended to preserve the rich history and heritage of tribal communities.
Oram said that the Prime Minister will also witness the Grih Pravesh of 11,000 houses built under the PM-JANMAN campaign.
The Union Minister said that the Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Utkarsh Gram Abhiyan, launched last month, is a holistic development program for over 63,000 tribal-dominated villages. He said it reaffirms further the government’s commitment to uplifting tribal communities and preserving their rich cultural heritage.
Oram said the ministry can consolidate around 3.5 lakh crore budget under Dharti Aaba Janjatiya Utkarsh Gram Abhiyan (DAJGUA) as 17 ministries are converged for the upliftment of tribals under it.
