Through this, I intend to show you how I am carrying out a project aimed at the comprehensive management of legal studies in Java, telling you how it came about and how it is going. The truth is, I don't have friends who are developers, mainly because I've only recently been learning programming and I think this medium is a good way to meet people related to these topics.
The project literally came out of nowhere, one day I said: "I'd like to make an app to practice in Java" and since I'm going to study law, it seemed like a good idea to do something to manage legal studies.
I thought it was going to be stupid and that it was going to come out at once, but nothing could be further from the truth. I asked a professor (who is a lawyer and has her own law firm): "Hey, will it be very complicated to make an app to record the activities of a firm?" and then he started bombarding me with information about what I should have. There really was a lot of data, so I asked him to tell me only what was essential and, even so, it was still a lot.
As you can see that I like to suffer, I still wanted to continue with the project. Right now, I'm in the process of defining what the app is going to be like in general terms and a bit about the GUI. If everything goes well, I estimate that in 5 months I will have it (hopefully).
There is already a software that takes care of this: "Lex-Doctor". In fact, it is the one that dominates the market here in Argentina in this sense. The issue is that it is old (it came out in '84, imagine) and pretty ugly to look at, it also has a complicated interface and that obviously lowers management efficiency.
I sincerely believe that I can do something better, with a prettier and more understandable interface and, if I achieve that, I think this app will have a promising future. Apart from the fact that I am going to learn a lot, I have only been programming for six months (2 months in Java).
Here are the two screens I designed so far. I've been doing this for two days, so these screens will probably undergo a lot of changes.
If anyone has any advice, please tell me, because I'm kind of lost for some things. Thanks :D
