Dragon Age: The Veilguard - Something's Coming Walkthrough
The blight is a lingering force of darkness in Dragon Age: The Veilguard that continues to be a thorn in the side of Rook and the Grey Wardens, with Evka and Antoine's latest excursion tasking you with destroying the source of a blight eruption. Once you finish helping this Grey Warden duo in Something Wicked, they'll enlist your help for one last quest.
While your conversations with the First Warden were far from civil, Evka and Antoine always had Rook's back, so it only seems right to repay their faith with some more help. Luckily, despite what seems like insurmountable odds in the face of the blight, there's a light at the end of the tunnel once you complete Something's Coming.
How To Find & Destroy The Blight Eruption
With Something Wicked behind you, you're ready to step into Something's Coming, so return to Evka and Antoine in the Hossberg Wetlands to accept this climactic task.
After you get your assignment, head to the Inner Courtyard area of the Hossberg Wetlands and search for the blight eruption.
At the western edge of the circle marking the objective, you'll enter a courtyard with a large statue and a group of darkspawn (weak to Fire, resist Necrotic) and Blight Boils.
You can destroy four of the Blight Boils from the ground, but heading up to the ballista will make things easier, as it offers a great vantage point for most of them, plus access to the final boil.
Once the four Blight Boils on the ground are cleared out along with the darkspawn, go to the ballista on the far side and circle to the vulnerable portion of the calcified Blight Boil to destroy it and make the boil blocking the door vulnerable.
Use the ballista to destroy the boil blocking your path forward, then head through the new opening into the Blight Eruption area.
You'll spot the pulsing source of the eruption as soon as you enter this area, and a herd of darkspawn will descend on you for a fight.
Defeat the darkspawn, and continue clearing calcified Blight Boils around the room by circling to their exposed section to hit their vulnerable point and destroy it.
Partway through the battle, an ogre will spawn, but if you prepare to hit it with everything you can when it appears, it should go down in an instant.
Using Fire skills in tandem with your companions is the best way to guarantee a quick fight.
Destroy the blight blocking the stairs and head up further toward the blight eruption, where you can place the alchemical flame.
Step away from the explosion by walking to your marker and watch the destruction sequence that follows with a blaze.
What Rewards Do You Get From Something's Coming?
Fast-travel back to the Sheltered Glade, where you can witness a final cutscene revealing the fruits of your labor and completing Something's Coming.
You'll receive the following rewards for your efforts:
- 2,250 XP
- Increased bonds with your companions
- Appearance items
- 400 Grey Wardens Strength
Evka, Antoine, and the Hossberg Wetlands owe you a great deal for your service.
