Astro Bot boasts a large and varied roster of levels across its five main galaxies, and collectively, they’ve got more than enough on offer to keep players occupied for plenty of time. Those looking for secrets and optional content, however, will also find a fair amount of it in the form of Lost Galaxy Levels.
Some of Astro Bot’s best and most creative levels are found in the Lost Galaxy, but unlocking them does take a little bit of work- which, thanks to Astro Bot’s excellent platforming, doesn’t feel like work, at the very least.
The Lost Galaxy has a total of ten levels for players to unlock and complete, each bringing its own set of bots to rescue and puzzle pieces to find. Each of the five main galaxies that you visit on your intergalactic journey is hiding away two portals to Lost Galaxy levels apiece.
Portals are found in specific levels and uncovered in different ways. The point is to poke around and find hidden secrets scattered throughout Astro Bot's many levels. Every time, you'll uncover a disco ball that you'll pull to then uncover the portal to a Lost Galaxy level.
In the room where you first fight a Russian doll, you'll find yourself facing a large wall with four lit torches on it. Knocking down all four torches will reveal the portal behind the wall.
After finding the fourth bot, once you grab the first pig by its tail, go back a little bit to the seal ice sculpture and throw the pig at it. Spin into the crack that emerges on the spot to reveal the portal.
After the pirate boss fight at the end, instead of finishing the level, go to one of his pincers to spot a crack in the ground surrounded by coins. Make a spin into the crack and you'll find the portal.
Towards the end of the level, as you're ascending up the branches of a tree after hopping on top of a floating bubble, keep going up until you eventually find a switch on the tree, then press the switch.
Between finding the fourth and fifth bots, climb to the top of the platform with the torii gate. You'll be in your sponge form, so make sure you've got plenty of water absorbed. On top of the platform, extinguish the chimney with your water, then go down it to find the portal.
Close to the level's starting point, you'll find a sealed entrance surrounded by two inactive switches. These switches need to be activated with electricity, and thankfully, there's a UFO enemy here that wants to zap you. Lure the enemy to the switches and use its attacks to activate them.
At the very end of the level, go to the platform to the right and clear away all gems. Smash onto the floor to reveal a bouncing platform that will shoot you up to a secret platform above. Go through the paneled wall you find here.
After getting the balloon ability, immediately turn around and go to the floating platform in the distance. Spin against the flower to reveal another platform, where you'll chop down large bamboo sticks reveal yet another platform. Use your jet boots and hover along the platform's edges to reveal the portal.
After defeating the boss, rather than finishing the level, climb up the platforms behind you and go to the highest point, where you can walk along an invisible raised path. Jump from one platform to the next (make sure to go along the right side) to make it across the other side, where you can get on top of a carpet and float to a secret area above to find the portal.
When you get to the platform with the two penguins playing with a snowball, push the snowball down into the snow-covered platform below. Push the ball around until it's much larger, then roll it to the edge, where you can now use it to jump up to the platform that was previously out of reach.
Each Lost Galaxy level in Astro Bot has its own set of bots, VIP bots, and puzzle pieces, with 55 bots and 22 puzzle pieces in total, which means completing these levels is necessary if you're looking to make it to 100 percent completion.
Additionally, once you have unlocked and completed all ten Lost Galaxy levels, you'll unlock a bonus eleventh level dubbed Final Encore, which has its own bots and puzzle pieces as well.
