Luma Island: How To Reach The Jungle

Dec 16, 2024 am 05:35 AM

The Jungle is the fourth region you can travel to in Luma Island, and it's located far from the actual island. There's no flying there, so you'll need some way of sailing to it, but there's no way any of the townspeople can do it; the pier's still destroyed and many boats are out of commission.

Luma Island: How To Reach The Jungle

On top of it all, the Lighthouse needs to be repaired so you can have a safe journey, and you need a map to find the Jungle. Your only option is to repair the destroyed boat on your farm to get there yourself, but you'll need to brave both the Forest and the Mountain to get everything you need.

How To Repair The Boat

Luma Island: How To Reach The Jungle

The boat you'll need to get to the Jungle is located on the beach on your farm, near the center of the map, and it's the same one you start the game near.

To get everything needed to repair the boat, you'll need to unlock access to all previous regions, the Forest and the Mountains, a lot of materials found in these two locations, and two key landmarks in the town need to have been repaired: the General Store, and the Lighthouse.

There are six materials needed, three of which are specially obtained, and the other three are normal ones you can craft:

  • Lost Jungle Island Map
  • Boat Motor
  • Propeller
  • Mountain Wood Planks
  • Moonstone Bars
  • Mountain Coloring

For the three specialty materials, you'll need to complete some other quests or find specific locations to get them, similar to how you got the Cogwheel for the Cable Car.

How To Get The Lost Jungle Island Map

Luma Island: How To Reach The Jungle

To get the Lost Jungle Island Map, you'll need to repair the Lighthouse after the earthquake on Day Five destroys it, and like other building repairs, it has two stages.

You'll need to repair the General Store to finish the Lighthouse's first repair stage, as it's the only place that sells the Scaffolding needed for it.

In total, you'll need five Fiber, ten Forest Wood Planks, 15 Forest Stone Blocks, five Iron Bars, and 25 Glass between both of the repair stages.

Between both stages of the Lighthouse's repair, you're going to need seven different materials, and the majority of them need resources from the Mountain to craft.

Lighthouse Repair Stage One Materials

Silk Rope x15 Craft with Spider Silk and
Mountain Wood Plank x30 Refine Mountain Wood in a Sawmill.
Scaffolding x10 Purchase from the repaired General Store for 2,000 Gold each.

Lighthouse Repair Stage Two Materials

Mountain Stone Block x50 Refine Mountain Stone in a Sawmill.
Moonstone Bar x30 Smelt Moonstone Ore in an Ore Smelter.
Glass x20 Smelt Sand in a Kiln.
Cement x15 Craft with Calcium, Sand, and Charcoal in a Kiln.

Interact with the Lighthouse once you've got the materials during each repair stage. When it's fully repaired, you can speak to Nelson to complete the quest, and he'll reward you with the Lost Jungle Island Map.

How To Get The Boat Motor

Luma Island: How To Reach The Jungle

For the Boat Motor, you don't need to do anything in particular to unlock it. It's always available at the Fisherman's Shop, but the caveat is that it costs 100,000 Gold to purchase.

You'll want to get to at least the Skilled or Expert level of your chosen Profession to unlock the more lucrative recipes and sell enough of your profession's items to get the gold needed.

Opening Purple Chests in the Forest and Mountains always drops one of their regional Jewelry, and these sell for a large amount which can help you get the Gold needed.

When you've got the Gold, go down to the Fisherman's Shop at any time of day, and purchase the Boat Motor for the repair.

How To Get The Propeller

Luma Island: How To Reach The Jungle

The third key material for the boat is the Propeller, and to get this item, you'll need to have the Mountain unlocked and reach the highest point of it.

This is a long and dangerous endeavor, and it begins by following the path by the Cable Car's platform to the northeast and following it all the way around to the northwestern corner of the region.

From there, you'll start climbing up the mountain, and several different obstacles will make it difficult. The first type you'll come across is giant snowballs that roll across the path and will kill you if they hit you, sending you back to the start of their section.

As you climb the mountain, you can unlock multiple shortcuts down the mountain: ladders that you can let down along the edges of cliffs, and a cave system that leads to the northern and southern ends of the map.

You'll also come across sections with falling snowballs and broken scaffolding you need to repair with Mountain Wood to create a roof, blocking the snowballs from hitting you.

The final type of obstacle is the Snowstorm Prism, which rotates along a central point and shoots out a beam that will kill you if it hits. They'll always be found in a small area with ice tiles that cause you to slide, and rocks or cliffs you can hide behind to avoid the beam.

Avoid these as you make your way up and around to the top of the mountain, and you'll find the Propeller at an unfinished campsite at the top, next to one of the shortcut caves and near a Red Chest, which contains the drawing for the Villa.

You can unlock the Mountain Explorer achievement by climbing up to the peak with the Red Chest on it.

What Can You Find In The Jungle?

Luma Island: How To Reach The Jungle

Once you've got all six materials, head back to the boat and interact with it to repair it, then you can take it over to the Jungle.

You'll start on a beach similar to that on your farm, and you can begin collecting the new materials available: Jungle Wood and Jungle Stone, as well as any nearby Jungle Berries and Giant Flowers, which can be harvested to get Jungle Flowers.

Jungle Mushrooms are easier to find and more common inside the Forbidden Jungle Cave than out in the open area of the Jungle.

The first new ingredients for the Fisherman Profession are also available as soon as you arrive. The new bait type is Dragonflies, which move quickly like the Grasshoppers from the Forest, Bladefin can be found right off the shore you arrive at, Lobster and Caviar are on the beaches, and Octopus is available from any non-bubbling water.

Luma Island: How To Reach The Jungle

Alongside new Fishing resources, you'll also come across new enemy types, such as the Skeletal Sludge and the Saw Plant:

  • The Skeletal Sludge is a dark green slime with a skull inside it which does contact damage, has a jumping attack, and spits up acid which causes a poison cloud in a small radius.
  • The Saw Plant is a bright red and purple plant with four bulbs. It periodically shoots saw-like projectiles that bounce from the bulbs in four directions, and alternates between two positions each time it shoots.

You can find new Pirate-based materials for the Treasure Hunter Profession, such as Pirate's Black-Gold Bars, Pirate Gun Powder, and Pirate's Jewels.

The Jungle features bridges you need to repair to access new areas like those on the Mountain, and they cost five Jungle Wood Planks, five Jungle Stone Blocks, and ten Silk Ropes each.

There will also be another giant temple to unlock, and this time you'll be searching for the three Magma Tablets, which are located in three different Jungle temples scattered throughout the island.

How To Find The Jungle Caves

Luma Island: How To Reach The Jungle

The first place you'll want to visit is the Forbidden Jungle Cave, so you can start gathering Volcanic Ore for further upgrading your Tools, and if you're a Jewelrycrafter, get some of the new gems and the new rubble.

It's right near the arrival point in the Jungle, and all you need to do is northwest along the shore, past the Skeleton Sludge, and there's going to be a shallow curve of sand in the water you can use to reach a small beach with the cave entrance and an unfinished camp.

You can change your Graphics Settings to Medium or above to get a better view of where the shallow walkways are in the water.

Luma Island: How To Reach The Jungle

Inside the Forbidden Cave, besides the Charcoal nodes, you'll find Volcanic Ore, which is going to be the new standard metal bar for the fourth tier of your tool's upgrades, and other items like Volcanic Magnets.

There's going to be another three new gems – Sunset Fire Opal, Ruby, and Diamond – and the accompanying rubble for their jewelry is Platinum Rubble, which makes Platinum Bars.

The Forbidden Jungle Cave has explosive rocks like the Frozen Mountain Cave, and they're always Medium-sized round rocks without any grass or moss on them.

Luma Island: How To Reach The Jungle

Jungle Spiders will be the spider variant you'll face in this cave, and besides being the fastest of the four, they can also occasionally resist the stun of your Whip and go in for an attack much sooner than usual.

They appear with and have a purple glow, and they often spawn two at a time, even if you haven't started hitting a gem, so you'll want at least a level four Moonstone Whip when dealing with them.
