How to Display MySQL Database Images in HTML Using Two PHP Scripts?
Dec 16, 2024 am 08:55 AMRetrieving and Displaying Images from MySQL Database in HTML
When working with MySQL databases, displaying images retrieved from a BLOB column in an HTML tag can present challenges. Let's explore a solution to this issue using the provided code.
In the initial code snippet (catalog.php), the goal was to retrieve the image data from the MySQL table and assign it to the PHP variable $result. However, this approach is not feasible as you cannot directly insert the result into the HTML tag.
To address this, we need to create a separate PHP script to return the image data. Let's call it getImage.php. In catalog.php, we modify the code to include the getImage.php script with the appropriate parameters:
<body> <img src="getImage.php?id=1" width="175" height="200" /> </body>
In getImage.php, we connect to the database and execute the query to retrieve the image data. We then echo the retrieved image data as a response:
$link = mysqli_connect("localhost", "root", "", "dvddb"); $sql = "SELECT dvdimage FROM dvd WHERE>
Now, when the browser renders catalog.php, it will make a request to getImage.php. getImage.php will retrieve the image data from the database and return it as a response. The browser will receive the image data and display it within the <img> tag, allowing you to successfully display the image.
