Captain America Overview

Marvel Rivals: Captain America Hero Guide

Captain America is a medium-difficulty Vanguard unit that can protect allies by shielding them and granting them bonus health and movement boosts. His primary ability is his Living Legend skill, which allows him to block enemy attacks and deflect them in random directions.

Additionally, he can use his basic attack Sentinel Strike to smash his enemies with his shield and deal damage to them. He can also throw his shield at enemies with the Vibranium Energy Saw ability. He can also increase his movement speed with his Leading Dash ability and jump into the air with Fearless Leap.

His Liberty Dash ability allows him to charge at enemies and Super-Soldier Slam lets him crash down on opponents from a height and thereby launch them up in the air. Finally, he can use his ultimate Freedom Charge to forge a path for his allies where everyone receives bonus HP and movement boost.

Tips And Tricks To Play Captain America

Marvel Rivals: Captain America Hero Guide

Since Captain America is a Vanguard unit, positioning is key as diving too deep into the enemies will leave your team vulnerable. However, unlike other Vanguard units, he has abilities that allow him to play a little more aggressively due to his flexible kit.

Once a match starts, you should rush towards the objective with your Liberty Dash as the early positioning can be crucial in gaining advantage. However, eventually, enemies will start firing and you can either use Living Legend to deflect their projectiles or play on the offensive by using your Vibranium Energy Saw ability and throw your shield.

The Vibranium Energy Saw ability works best when enemies are grouped up in one place, which doesn't happen as often. However, even if there are single enemies, it is recommended you still use it as that ability allows you to deal damage from a distance.

If the enemy team has too many melee units, they'll come closer to attack you. In such scenarios, use the Sentinel Strike ability as after two consecutive hits you'll be able to throw your shield automatically. This will help you deal damage and also stop enemies from clustering too much as the ricochet from the shield hurts a lot.

The deflected bullets from the Living Legend ability can hurt enemies. You should try aiming your shield towards the enemy if possible as the return damage will make your enemy scared.

However, if there are too many ranged units in the enemy team shooting bullets at you, always go for the Living Legend ability. You'll be able to deflect their bullets, which will stop them from shooting for a while. Make sure you don't use this ability unless there's heavy firing as it is the only defensive tool in your arsenal.

If there are low-health enemies that catch your attention, you can use the Liberty Dash ability to run at them and finish them off before returning to your team. Apart from that, you can also use it to run back to the objective if you end up dying during a fight.

Tips To Use Captain America's Ultimate

The Freedom Charge ability is unique as it creates a path behind you where all allies receive a movement and health boost along with Captain America himself. Ideally, you should use it when your entire team is alive, and you are charging at the enemy. The health boost will help your team to stay alive while the movement boost will allow you to chase anyone in low health.

Never use it if your full team isn't behind you, as it doesn't provide any offensive boosts, and the HP boosts won't keep you alive if you try to jump in 1v5. However, you can also use it defensively if you feel you're about to die and need a boost in HP, though it isn't as recommended.
