A popular mechanic in many JRPGs, especially older one, is random encounters. It adds a degree of uncertainty to exploration, though can grow a bit tedious in certain scenarios. Fantasian Neo Dimension found a rather stylish solution to that in the Dimengeon.

Fantasian Neo Dimension: Dimengeon Upgrade Guide

The Dimengeon allows you to catch enemies as soon as they appear so you can battle them later instead. Except the capacity is only 30 enemies, and this can fill up quite quickly. It would be great if you could increase that, wouldn't it? Well you're in luck.

Can The Dimengeon Be Upgraded?

While being able to lock away enemies into a little pocket dimension to battle later is a great idea, 30 enemies accumulate pretty quickly. While it definitely saves some time, you'll have to fight all those enemies sooner or later, and immediately if it overflows.

However, it can be upgraded. Twice, in fact, once in Act 1 and again in Act 2. Both of these have their own associated quests, and both of them are found in the Outskirts of the Royal Vibran Capital. The very first can be picked up as soon as you're introduced to Ez's Workshop.

The Extreme Dimengeon

After Ez has introduced you to his family, have a chat with one of the kids in the main room of the Workshop. He will be enamoured with the design of the Dimengeon, but notes that it is possible to tweak it even further to make it more powerful. Leo of course obliges him.

He first requests just a single Magic Crystal and Battery. You should already have these, but they're both drops from enemies. They can be acquired pretty easily, especially once you gain the ability to warp to the Machine Realm. Just Analyse an enemy to see what they drop or you can Steal.

Except that's not enough either. After getting these materials, he says he'll need an SX Circuit Board. He gives you a ticket to get from a dealer in town. Head over to the Town Center and find this dodgy individual in an alley behind a building on the very far-left of the area. Speak with the group of children outside first to make him available to chat with.

When spoken to, he will ask you what item you're looking for. Make sure you choose the same that the child asked you for, as otherwise you'll have to return to him to get another ticket to trade with him. After you return, the child slots the items in, and the Dimengeon now not only holds 40 enemies, but the powerful boosts also appear more frequently.

The Extreme Dimengeon

After entering into Act 2, you'll have the chance to upgrade the Dimengeon for the final time. For this though, you'll have to have both rescued Ez, and then completed the quest 'Ez and the Guild' before this one becomes available.

With these prerequisites complete, speak to the same child as you did for the 'True Dimengeon' quest to unlock the 'Extreme Dimengeon' quest. This time, Prickle gets involved too to help upgrade the Dimengeon too, and you are asked to pick up two important items - a microship blueprint from the Guild HQ, and a power supply from the Thaumatech Factory. You can do these in any order.

Gathering The Microchip Blueprint

The Microchip Blueprint is exceedingly simple, if slightly long-winded for comedic effect. There are no bosses awaiting you here, so head in into the Guild HQ, and head to the back room that leads to the room you originally saved Ez from.

You can also click on the quest marker from the Pause Menu to automatically walk there.

Once you reach here, interact with the shelf to learn that it is locked, somehow. Head back into the main hall to see a Silver Orbling carrying the key. Here begins a wild goose chase around the entire room until this mischievous Orbling is eventually cornered. Defeat them in battle to get the key. Don't worry, they're a bit pathetic in battle and easily defeated.

Head on back to the shelf and unlock it to get the Microchip Blueprint. That's the Guild HQ section of the quest complete.

Gathering The Terrawatt Battery

The Thaumatech Factory section of this quest is much more difficult. While getting the piece if technically faster, that's partially reliant on your own competencies. As is par for the course in Act 2, you are faced with a boss you have battled before

, though this time with some new moves.

Head to the Thaumatech Factory - Entrance Floor and proceed forward to see a large terminal you can interact with. Prickle is kind enough to inform you here that you are going to face a difficult battle, and gives you the choice to back out

. Make sure to fully heal up before starting the boss fight.

For this battle, you'll fight the Atomecha 2.0.

You may recall them from when Cheryl and Kina got transported to the Machine Realm initially, or you may have even fought this exact version while defending the Secret Base with Prickle. Regardless, they don't have much new going on here so you can take the usual precautions.

If you previously Analysed the boss during Defend The Secret Base, then they will not have to be Analysed this time

. The opposite is true as well.

Before starting, make sure to equip any Rubies you have to Leo and Cheryl for boosted attack power, as well as Emeralds for extra defence. In battle, the boss has two turrets on their sides. Leo cannot attack these, though Cheryl can. Attack the boss head on with Leo's Lightning Samidare, and use Charge and Concentrate with Cheryl's Ice Strike

to deal a massive amount of damage.

Damaging the turrets also depletes from Atomecha 2.0's main HP, and disables some of their moves

.

Prickle and Ez will be your main support units here, casting Barrier All and Defence Up. When the boss gets low on health, they'll turn red and ready an attack that hits the whole party for massive damage. With Defence Up and a Barrier, this move can easily be defended against. After the boss is defeated, they will drop the Terawatt Battery.

With both items collected, you can now return to the Workshop to complete the quest. Upgraded to the max, the Dimengeon can hold up to 50 enemies

, and the boosts appear even more frequently, including Phoenix Feathers if members of the party fall during these lengthy encounters. You'll have to be satisfied with 50 enemies.<script> window.adsNinja = window.adsNinja || {}; window.adsNinja.queue = window.adsNinja.queue || []; window.adsNinja.queue.push(function(){ window.adsNinja.queue.push(function(){ var fallbackContent = ` <video> <source src='https://video.thegamerimages.com/2024/12/fantasian-neo-dimension-atomecha-2-0-boss-battle-made-with-clipchamp-1733148206.mp4' type='video/mp4'> Your browser does not support the video tag. `; try{ var result = window.adsNinja.monetizeVideo('.emaki-video-player-84abc19253705c16', JSON.parse(`{\"name\":\"Instream-InContent\",\"groupName\":\"content\"}`), JSON.parse(`{\"trackingId\":\"in-content\",\"playlist\":[{\"title\":\"Fantasian Neo Dimension Atomecha 2.0 Boss Battle - Made with Clipchamp\",\"description\":\"\",\"length\":\"4:33\",\"mimeType\":\"video\/mp4\",\"url\":\"https:\/\/video.thegamerimages.com\/2024\/12\/fantasian-neo-dimension-atomecha-2-0-boss-battle-made-with-clipchamp-1733148206.mp4\",\"thumbnailLink\":\"https:\/\/static1.thegamerimages.com\/wordpress\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/wm\/2024\/12\/20241130153739_1.jpg?fit=crop&w=1024&h=576\",\"textTracks\":[{\"kind\":\"subtitles\",\"label\":\"English\",\"language\":\"en\",\"url\":\"https:\/\/video.thegamerimages.com\/2024\/12\/fantasian-neo-dimension-atomecha-2-0-boss-battle-made-with-clipchamp-1733148206-1733148796.vtt\",\"default\":false}]}]}`)); if(!result){ console.warn('Failed to load AdsNinja video player.'); document.getElementById('emaki-video-player-84abc19253705c16').innerHTML = fallbackContent; } } catch(error){ console.warn('Failed to load AdsNinja video player.'); document.getElementById('emaki-video-player-84abc19253705c16').innerHTML = fallbackContent; } }); }); </script>

Letting the Dimengeon fill up to its limit is also a very effective means of gathering EXP quickly if you equip the party with Vibran Secret Stones and Unfamiliar Stones.
