In Palworld, resource gathering is key to crafting and progression. While common materials like wood and stone are easily found, rarer resources, such as Leather, require a bit more strategy. This guide details the best methods for obtaining Leather, even in the early game.
Leather is surprisingly abundant, dropping from various Pals, appearing as random world drops, and being sold by merchants.

How to Get Leather
Leather is a crucial crafting component, fortunately easy to acquire. Here are four reliable methods:
Both regular and wandering merchants stock crafting materials, including Leather (priced at 150 Gold). While manageable for established players, buying Leather consistently can become expensive. Currently, Pals cannot be assigned to farms for Leather production. However, using Gold-producing Pals (like Mau and Mau Cryst) to fund Leather purchases is a viable workaround.
Many Pals drop Leather. Defeating Pals like Fuack, Rushoar, Direhowl, and Foxparks yields a high Leather drop rate. Direhowl packs are particularly efficient targets. Alternatively, capturing Pals instead of killing them also provides Leather and bonus experience.
