Wolf Statues in Dragon Age: The Veilguard are collectibles that are linked to Solas’ memories, his rebellion, and his intentions. These are scattered throughout the Crossroads, and you will need to find all six of them to complete the Regrets of the Dread Wolf quest. You will automatically get this quest after finding your first Wolf Statue.
This guide will walk you through the locations of all six Wolf Statues, how to use them, and a crucial choice that you will need to make at the end of the quest to unlock a secret ending.
There are a total of six Wolf Statues that you can find in Dragon Age: The Veilguard. Out of these, one is automatically obtained as a part of the story, while the remaining five are located in the Crossroads – locked behind different side quests:

---|---|---|---|
Wolf Statue 1 |
Dock Town | You will acquire the first Wolf Statue during a non-combat Main Quest: Shades of the Blight, immediately after the 'Where the Dead Must Go' quest. After meeting with Morrigan in Dock Town, go through a little dialogue, after which The Inquisitor will hand over a Wolf Statue. If this is your first Wolf Statue, you will also begin the Regrets of the Dread Wolf quest in your Journal. | |
Wolf Statue 2 |
Elvehenan’s Haven, Crossroads | For the second Wolf Statue, you will need to head over to Elvehenan’s Haven in Crossroads. Once there, complete A Wolf’s Call quest. At the end of it, you will find the Wolf Statue on a pedestal. | |
Wolf Statue 3 |
Converged City, Crossroads | While at the Crossroads, head to the Converged City to do The Labs Below quest. Just like before, you will find the Wolf Statue in plain sight at the end – it will be sitting on a pedestal. | |
Wolf Statue 4 |
Elvehenan’s Haven, Crossroads | First, you will need to do the Gate of Faded Glories quest in the Arlathan Forest Ruins. This requires you to defeat Entarus the Rekindler in the Tainted Woods. This enemy is vulnerable to Fire, but resists all Necrotic damage. | |
Wolf Statue 5 |
Converged City, Crossroads | This one requires you to complete the Gate of Lost Ages quest in Dock Town. To do this, you will need to kill Quyn the Sparkwielder in the Lost Company Mire. To reach this enemy, interact with the nearby Fen’Harel Altar to build a path heading downward. From there, continue to jump across the gaps until you are at the very bottom of the area. | |
Wolf Statue 6 |
Heights of Athim, Crossroads | The final Wolf Statue is found at the end of the Disrupt and Conquer side quest at the Heights of Athim in the Crossroads. If you are unable to begin this quest, make sure to do A Warden’s Best Friend first. |
Whenever you find a Wolf Statue, bring it to a pedestal in the main room of the Lighthouse. This will let you experience a memory from Solas’ past. Following that, you will be able to discuss it with your companions who will share their perspective on the matter.
Each memory is also tied to a secret Achievement / Trophy, which you will need to 100 percent the game. Here are the Achievements / Trophies that you will unlock by witnessing all six of Solas’ memories:
Moreover, you will also be able to get Mythal’s Essence at the end of this questline, which is needed to unlock one of the alternate endings.
Once you have placed every Wolf Statue in the Lighthouse, return to the Crossroads to meet Morrigan. After a bit of dialogue, she will unseal a nearby path which will lead you to Mythal.
This is where you will need to make a crucial choice. You can either enlist her help or go against her. Depending on your choice, you will get slightly different rewards.
If you wish to convince Mythal into giving her essence, you will need to choose the following dialogue options:
|
|||||||||||
Solas is helping me. | Forgotten him. | ||||||||||
We must stop the Blight. | You stood against it. | ||||||||||
We must stop the Gods. | Put the Blight aside? | ||||||||||
We are worthy. | Building a safe place. |
By choosing these dialogue options, Mythal will hand over her essence, which is required to unlock one of the endings. Aside from that, you will also acquire a Unique Weapon called Mythal's Light . This weapon deals no Physical Damage, has 450 Stagger, and deals 80 Fire, Necrotic, Electricity, and Cold damage. Being able to cover all Elemental Damage types (even if it deals no Physical Damage) can be very handy in the endgame.
Choosing any other dialogue options will anger Mythal, and she will assume her dragon form. At this point, you will need to fight Mythal’s Retribution, a Level 45 High Dragon.
It is vulnerable against Necrotic damage, and resists Electricity.
This is a three-phase boss fight. Once you have damaged it enough, it will perch on a nearby ledge, hurling electric bolts at you while also summoning some enemies in the area. After clearing the area, it will jump down for another phase. Continue to repeat the same process until it is dead to get Mythal’s Essence, Dragon Scales, three Dragonfire Catalysts, 12 Etheric Remnants, 300 Lords of Fortune strength, and a Codex Entry.
Remember that you will not get Mythal's Light if you decide to fight her dragon-form. This is why we recommend convincing her if possible.
Before leaving the area, look for a chest that contains a Unique Amulet called A Pale Reflection . It is an incredibly potent endgame Amulet that grants 20 percent increased damage against enemies with low HP, 5 percent Ultimate charge per enemy defeated, and considers every standard enemy as if it is on low HP.
