Bozhena, the village herbalist, needs your help! Her daughter, Pavlena, has vanished after her last trip to Troskowitz. This is the start of the "Bad Blood" quest.

Begin by searching Pavlena's hut. Examine her unfinished work and a man's cap – clues to her whereabouts. A locked box might yield further information (if your lockpicking skill is high enough). Your next stop: Troskowitz.

Talk to the Bailiff. He'll direct you to Roman, the woodcutter's son, a friend of Pavlena's. Speak to Dushko, who knows Roman. Use persuasion (the "It could be important" option worked well in testing) to learn a crucial detail: Pavlena is pregnant. This information is key to a peaceful resolution. (Save your game before talking to the Bailiff to easily retry the conversation if needed).

Dushko will ask you to search Roman's house. Pick the lock or climb the ladder to enter. Inside, you'll find evidence of their recent presence.

Next, head to their usual meeting spot by the pond. Follow the bloody trail into the forest.

A pig farmer will identify Straw, a farmhand, as the culprit. Find Straw at the chicken coop. Persuasion or intimidation will reveal the truth: Straw and his brother attacked Roman to impress their boss, Jakesh, who blames Bozhena for past tragedies. Straw reveals Pavlena's location: a stony gorge.

Head to the gorge. You can avoid fighting the guard dog, Grisly, by simply running past it and climbing the ladder.

Inside, you'll find Pavlena held captive by Ota. Negotiation will lead to her release. Talk to Pavlena, and you can choose to reveal or conceal her pregnancy (either choice works).

Return Pavlena to her mother. Bozhena will want revenge on Jakesh. To Achieve the best resolution, reveal Pavlena's pregnancy to Jakesh at his farm. This will lead to reconciliation and reparations.

Return to Bozhena with the good news. You can keep or return the reparations. The quest concludes peacefully. Pavlena, now skilled in survival, archery, and thievery, becomes a valuable contact.
