In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, while swords, axes, and bows are your primary combat tools, a dagger proves invaluable for those tricky, one-sided encounters. Essential for stealth kills, it also has other uses. Acquiring one early on, however, isn't straightforward. The stealth kill skill unlocks without specifying dagger acquisition. Fortunately, regardless of your game progress, several reliable locations exist.

Early Game Dagger Acquisition

Stealth kills in the Trosky region become significantly easier with a dagger. This is particularly helpful during the Mutt retrieval side quest.

Travel southwest from Troskowitz to find Herdboy Sleepy's camp. On his table, alongside a rather unfortunate sheep, you'll find a dagger. A quick, unnoticed snatch is easily accomplished, as Sleepy is the only nearby NPC. Remember, this is theft, so avoid guards to prevent confiscation.

Purchasing a Dagger

Later in the game, if your dagger is lost or sold, several options exist.

While bandits sometimes carry daggers, their condition may be questionable. A more reliable method is purchasing one.

Visit any Swordsmith, Innkeeper, or Blacksmith in towns. Daggers are relatively inexpensive, typically costing 15-20 Groschen with skillful haggling and a decent merchant reputation. Always haggle! Never pay full price.

Once acquired, equip your dagger in your inventory. It's located with your torch, below your swords and axes.
