In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, diving into Alchemy means diving into foliage to find the herbs and flowers you need. Has anyone got a decoction for hay fever?
38:08One particularly helpful herb is Valerian, which is used in the Cockeral potion, aiding with Energy and reducing Henry’s tiredness. However, when you need that one specific flower, it suddenly becomes the hardest thing to find - here’s where to get some Valerian.
Valerian is a visibly notable flower, with green, leafy off-shoots and a bundle of white, cotton-like blossoms at the top. It won’t often be clumped together with more Valerian as with Marigold or Nettles, but if you find some, there will likely be more nearby.
First off, the easiest way to get some Valerian would be to visit Apothecaries and Herbalists, as they are likely to sell Dried Valerian. However, as with any dried herbs, this will not be as suitable for crafting stronger concoctions, and will likely only create standard versions, or weaker if mixed with lower quality herbs.
Valerian can be found somewhat commonly in the wilds, on forest paths, peat bogs, or generally damp areas. A solid place to search is the land and forests around the pond in the Trosky region, around Bozhena’s hut, but failing that any dense forest areas are likely to contain some. Make sure to search while it’s light out, and look for white flowers - it remains distinct from Chamomile, so you probably won’t mistake it for that.
However, as with other herbs, you can also check near Apothecaries or in village gardens, where herbs are being cultivated. This is a great way to find larger amounts in one go, but should not be solely relied upon as the method for finding this particular flower.
