Speak with Gaibl the scribe in Troskowitz. Choose the dialogue option marked with a blue icon to initiate the Lion's Crest quest. The subsequent skill check choice is inconsequential. Inquire about Brunswick and his riddle to obtain your first clue and a poleaxe sketch (which can be given to a blacksmith).
The riddle, a lengthy poem, hints at the location of Brunswick's first treasure cache:
"Depart from crone and maiden, standing tall behind the gates, bravely journey towards true midnight, where in chilly caverns your prize awaits. Traverse the hall of forest kings, hidden deep from hunter's view, standing tall, two stone sentinels, behind whom your desired treasure lies. Between them stands a mighty rock, a subtle niche yet deeper still, a place of devotion, where my gleaming armor remains."
The location is relatively close. Remember to grab a shovel before you begin.
Brunswick's hidden cache is located north of Trosky Castle, within a small chapel nestled among rocks, buried deep within a forest. Refer to the yellow circle in the image below for the exact location.
The crevice faces north; you'll need to circle around to the south to find it. Inside, you'll find a stone cross and a small altar. Interact with the cross to move it, then dig up the soil to uncover Brunswick's stash, containing two maps, Brunswick's gauntlet and dagger, a skill book, and some wine.
The first map leads you northwest to a rocky, forested area north of Tachov.
This area is a wolf hunting ground, so be prepared for a fight. Eliminate several wolves to clear the area and safely retrieve Brunswick's bag, located between two closely growing trees. The bag contains a coif, leg plate, caparison (horse covering), and various food items (remember to cook or dry these to prevent spoilage).
Brunswick's second map points west, near Vidlak Pond.
The stone cross is on a small rise west of the pond. If you're struggling, start at the fisherman's house and head north. This cache rewards you with plate sleeves, a Savior Schnapps potion, and bandages.
This location is south, near Zhelejov Wagoner's Inn, specifically a secluded spot to the north.
Travel north from the inn into the woods to find the spot marked above. A small mound of earth, identifiable by a skeleton and a cross, marks the location. The bag contains wine, 30 apples, and Brunswick's brigandine.
Brunswick's final cache is at the treasure hunter's camp, roughly midway between the Nomad's Camp and Bozhena's house.
These treasure hunters are bandits; eliminate them before searching for the stone cross near a rock pile. Interacting with the pile yields Brunswick's bacinet (helmet component), a die, and a worn rosary.
This concludes the Lion's Crest quest. Crafting the poleaxe is optional, but you can always sell it if desired. For lockpicking assistance, consult our Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 lockpicking guide, and for additional treasure hunting tips, see our KCD 2 treasure map guide.
