Threads Now Lets You Share Custom Feeds, Just like Bluesky
Bluesky's popularity is undeniable, even prompting Meta's response. While boasting a significantly smaller user base than Threads (30 million versus 320 million), Threads is actively incorporating Bluesky's successful features. A key example is the highly-regarded shareable custom feeds, now being adopted by Threads.
Threads now offers the ability to create and share personalized feeds, providing an alternative to the algorithmic feed. Sharing options include direct messaging (DM), link sharing, and profile page promotion. This feature grants users control over their content consumption, filtering out unwanted accounts.
Custom feeds are easily created via the Threads app or website. Long-press the "For You" or "Following" feed, select "Create New Feed," and enable "Public Feed" for profile visibility. Add up to 150 profiles and 5 topics via the "Add topics or profiles" button. A maximum of 128 custom feeds can be created.
The newly created feed will appear in your feeds bar, ready for sharing. Navigate to your Profile page, tap the Feeds tab, select the desired feed, and choose the share option. Sharing methods include direct messaging (DM) or copying a shareable link.
When encountering shared feeds, users can "Pin to Home" for easy access without following all included profiles, or "Follow Profiles" to follow all listed accounts. Removing unwanted feeds is simple: long-press the feed tab and select "Remove."
