Monster Hunter Wilds offers a wide array of armor sets, with more becoming available as you progress. Each set has strengths and weaknesses, but all can be upgraded and customized for optimal hunting. This guide explains how to upgrade your armor.

To upgrade, you'll need Armor Spheres and the necessary materials. Here's how:

First, visit the Smithy at any Base Camp (available after reaching the Oilwell Basin).

Select "Forge/Upgrade Armor." Double-click the armor piece you wish to upgrade (it must be already forged). Choose "Upgrade."

You'll see your available Armor Spheres. These provide upgrade points:

• Armor Sphere: 10 points
• Armor Sphere+: 50 points
• Advanced Armor Sphere: 200 points

Low Rank armor has Eight levels; each level requires 30 points (up to level 6), then 200 points per level thereafter. High Rank armor has four levels, each needing 200 points.

How to obtain Armor Spheres:

Armor Spheres are quest rewards. Story quests (like defeating Jin Dahaad or Xu Wu) often provide them.

Efficient farming involves completing optional quests related to the monsters you need materials from. This lets you gather materials and Armor Spheres simultaneously.

After completing the main story, you can also smelt excess monster materials into Armor Spheres at the Smelting Foundry in the Oilwell Basin Base Camp.
