Two Point Museum: Mastering Zone Assignments for Efficient Museum Management
In Two Point Museum, your staff typically roams freely, addressing issues as they arise. This works well initially, but as your museum grows, it becomes less efficient. Zone Assignments offer a solution, ensuring staff spend less time wandering and more time working in their designated areas.
While not initially crucial with a small museum and limited staff, Zone Assignments become essential for optimizing larger museums. They allow you to strategically group exhibits and assign specialized staff to those areas.
Zone Assignments are a tool to improve museum organization and staff efficiency. They prevent staff from wasting time traveling between distant areas and ensure experts focus on their specialized exhibits. This is particularly helpful in later stages of the game with multiple buildings and a larger workforce. You can dedicate entire buildings to specific exhibit types and assign relevant staff accordingly. Security guards can be strategically positioned to enhance thief detection.
To create a zone, access the "Zone Assignments" tab in the bottom menu (between "Guests" and "Finances"). You'll see a staff list on the left and zone creation/management options on the right. Zones are building-specific; you cannot create a zone spanning multiple buildings.
Select "Create a Zone" and draw the zone tile by tile. The first zone is green; subsequent zones cycle through various colors (purple, yellow, green, pink, blue, teal). Use the "Remove From Room" tool (shovel icon) to remove tiles. Add more zones by clicking "Add A Zone." Rename zones by clicking their names. Zones cannot overlap.
Click "Assign Staff To Zone" to finalize a zone's placement. You'll return to the staff list to assign personnel.
Assign staff to zones by selecting a staff member and clicking the empty circle next to the desired zone. The staff member's square will change to the zone's color, and they'll relocate to that area. Remember to include essential rooms (bathrooms, staff rooms, training rooms) within the zone to ensure staff utilize them. There's no limit to the number of zones or staff per zone, except for the single-building restriction per zone.
To remove staff from a zone, use the "Zone Assignment" menu, select the staff member, and choose "Unassigned."
By strategically assigning staff to zones, you can create a highly efficient museum. For example, experts can be assigned to specific buildings, while janitors and assistants can roam freely. This approach maximizes staff effectiveness and minimizes wasted time.
