After completing Laboratores in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, you will be free to do whatever you want. With Hans not being at your side, you can explore the Trosky region and complete different side quests. One interesting side mission is Lackey, which can be triggered by speaking to Zlata.

How To Start The Lackey Quest

You can start this mission by heading to the road west of Tachov. The distance is quite long, but eventually, you will come across a house on the way. It may already be marked on your map. When you have reached the location, talk to Zlata, and she will tell you that Vostatek is missing.

Agree to help her and then talk to her son. Without Vitek's help, searching for Vostatek would be way too difficult as the search radius is extremely large. Upon talking to him, he will straight up refuse to help. However, you can pass a skill check to get helpful information from him.

Choose a persuasion skill check. Now that you have the information, it is time to find Vostatek.

If you don't have enough points in the persuasion skill, then you can use another one, preferably Charisma.

How To Find And Help Vostatek

From Vidlak Pond, exit through the west gate and follow the pathway on the right. Keep following, and eventually, you will hear Vostatek calling for help. He is being attacked by wolves. Defeat the wolves, and then Vostatek will come down.

If you leave the area without rescuing Vostatek from the wolves, the quest will fail.

However, he will twist his ankle, so your objective now is to carry him to his secret camp. He will give pretty weird directions at the start, but don't worry—in a while, the game will tell you where to go. Keep following the river to the north side, and the objectives will be updated as you cross the signs Vostatek gives.

Eventually, you will reach his hideout, so put him there. Then, talk to him, and he will ask you to bring some water. There is a barrel nearby, so interact with it to fill the waterskin he gave you and give it to him. Once you have done this, he will ask you to find his horse, Pepik.

How To Find Pepik

While you can turn him down, this will cause a loss in reputation, and the quest will be over. So, it is better to accept and find his horse. Just ahead will be a bamboo you can interact with. Then, the objective will update, so follow the pathway and keep looking for the clues (a prompt will appear every time you are near a clue).

You can steal the horse at night and avoid combat altogether, but this will result in you receiving less money in the end.

Investigate each clue and keep following the pathway southeast. Eventually, you will reach a cliff, where the poacher's camp is. There will be five enemies, so a head-on fight may be difficult if you are still in the early game.

We recommend fighting them stealthily and performing stealth kills to reduce their numbers. The best time to do that is during the night. However, if you don't want to fight them this way, it is better to lure an enemy for a one-on-one fight.

If you fight them head-on, the last one will surrender. You can pass skill checks to take his weapon or everything he has.

If you want to do it during the night, two of the enemies will be sleeping. First, kill the one standing at the main entrance, but watch out for the enemy who patrols that area. After killing the enemy at the main entrance, make quick work of the one who patrols that area. Now, only one more enemy will be active, so fight him.

The two who were sleeping have likely been alerted, but you won't have any trouble fighting them. Once you have defeated the enemies, find Pepik; he will be in the middle of the camp. If Pepik isn't there, he can be found at the camp's edge. Ride him and go back to Vostatek.

Get Your Reward From Vostatek

Once you are back with Pepik, talk to Vostatek and ride with him to his home. Upon reaching his house, you will start a conversation with his family. You can pass a skill check, but that isn't necessary; just choose the first option, and the quest will end.

Now, you will receive rewards based on your choices.

• You would get 80 Groschen if you killed all the enemies and brought back Pepik.
• 45 Groschen, if you didn't kill the enemies or the horse died.
• 25 Groschen, if you brought back Vostatek home after saving him from the wolves.
