The embered rough lizard in the Monster Hunter Wilderness is a hard-to-discover regional creature that lives in extremely hot areas. You need to advance the game plot to get into the area and find it. Fortunately, catching the Ember-Burning Rough Lizard only requires a capture net, no weapon.

Position of the rough lizard

In the Monster Hunter Wilderness, the best place to find the Embered Rough Lizard is Area 15 of Oil Well Basin . It is located at the bottom of the biome. When exploring the area and looking at the map, look for paths that seem to lead to other areas. If these paths seem to terminate inexplicably, head there and you may find a route to a deeper level. You will find some lurking near the waters of Area 14 . Make sure to put your weapon away and press the circle/B button to cut the body to get its material.
