In Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land, crafting potent substances from natural resources is key to Yumia's success. This guide details the game's synthesis system, allowing you to create weapons, items, and more by combining rare ingredients found across the Aladiss continent.
Unlocking Synthesis
Synthesis unlocks at the game's start after Yumia visits her Atelier during the "Survey Prop Work" quest. Interact with the Altar (located in front of the main base) to initiate the tutorial. Synthesis is only possible near a Simple Altar; initially, only the Atelier has one, but more can be built in unlocked areas. Synthesizing consumes ingredients, so diligent collection is crucial. Ingredients are automatically added to your Container upon entering a building with an Altar.
Created ingredients surpass raw materials in quality. Items and ingredients possess Elements; matching these during synthesis improves results.
Recipes have irreplaceable Core Ingredients, representing the minimum requirement. Adding extra ingredients enhances the final product. Some Core Ingredients are flexible; for example, any flower can be used to create Cloth, as it only requires a Plant. New recipes and synthesis functions unlock as you progress.
Alchemy Cores
Alchemy Cores are central to synthesis, determining item potency, quality, effects, and post-synthesis enhancements. Each Core needs its Core Ingredient. Additional ingredients improve the result; some unlock more slots, increasing capacity. Better ingredients enhance the Core. Slots often restrict element or ingredient types. Using recommended elements creates Resonances, strengthening Cores.
Three Core types exist:
Creating Resonances
Resonances enhance Cores by adding specific/high-quality ingredients, expanding ingredient limits. They are created by using correct ingredient types and elements. Mana, collected by using certain ingredients, increases Resonance levels. Eternal Mana persists after collection, and Condensed Mana provides 10 Mana at once. Materials can have special effects that boost status or activate Resonances. Crafted ingredients always have these effects, but some high-ranked raw materials might too. Creating stronger ingredients yields superior results. While the auto-add option is convenient, manual selection provides optimal results. The number of activated Resonances and their effects are displayed.
Item Rebuilding
Item Rebuilding (unlocked via the Skill Tree) improves item status. New ingredients can be added to items with open slots, but existing ingredients cannot be replaced. Some effects, like certain Resonances, don't activate during rebuilding. Creating a new item is often better for maximum strength.
Synthesis Skills
Synthesis Skills (unlocked after the "Shortcut" quest) add effects (ATK up, SPD up, etc.) at a cost of one to three Orbs (three are available per synthesis). Up to three skills can be used per item. Skipping skill selection offers no advantage. More powerful skills, costing more Skill Points and Orbs, unlock later.
Simple Synthesis
Simple Synthesis, unlocked alongside regular synthesis, allows crafting basic items (bullets, bandages, etc.) anywhere via the radial menu. New items are added as you progress. Certain skills increase item quantity and bag storage.
Unlocking New Recipes
New recipes are unlocked through story progression and material discovery. The Recipe Recall Station (requires Particles found through exploration) is used to learn recipes. Story progression unlocks recipes automatically; quests may require specific items. Finding sufficient materials unlocks recipes.
Additional recipes are gained through side quests and exploration.
Enhancing Recipes
The Recipe Recall Station enhances recipes using Particles. Enhancements include increased item copies, automatic quality boosts, additional slots/effects, and increased Base Resonance Count. Recipes can be enhanced up to level ten (or a lower cap). Higher levels require higher-quality Particles.
