In Assassin's Creed: Shadows, new skills and abilities become available to Naoe and Yasuke as you progress. One particularly useful technique is the landing roll, which significantly reduces fall damage. This skill is also required for a specific trophy/achievement.

Unlocking the Landing Roll

It's important to note that the landing roll isn't available from the start. Only Naoe can perform this maneuver; Yasuke is too large. To execute a landing roll, press Circle (PlayStation) or B (Xbox) just before impact when jumping.
