Warframe: Best Mire Builds

The Mire is one of the first melee weapons to grace the Warframe sandbox. This mutated blade was once used as a stat stick for melee Warframes without exalted weapons, such as Khora and Atlas. But thanks to some changes in 2025, stat stick melee weapons are no longer required to get the most out of these Warframes.

Not many players use the Mire nowadays because of this, but thanks to a Coda variant that released with Infested Liches, the Mire can now hang with some of the game's stronger melee options. Today, we'll be looking at how to get the Mire and its Coda variant, showcase some of its unique features, and explain how to best mod it.

How To Obtain The Mire

The standard Mire's main blueprint may be purchased for 15,000 Credits from the in-game market. Once purchased, you'll need some basic planetary materials to forge the weapon in your foundry. The hardest material to get is the Neural Sensor pair, which you can farm for as early as Juptier.

Later in your playthrough, you'll be able to get your hands on a Coda variant of the Mire from Eleanor's shop in Hollvania. This version is significantly stronger and doesn't need to be crafted. You'll need ten Live Heartcells to purchase the weapon from her, a currency that drops from slain Technocyte Coda —the in-game term for Infested Liches.

Both versions of the Mire are Infested blades with intrinsic Toxin damage , allowing them to bypass Corpus shields and inflict a Toxin DoT as a status ailment. The weapon itself is classified as a sword, featuring high status chance and attack speed for its archetype. It lacks good critical stats on the base variant, although the Coda version can be build as a critical/status hybrid if you use Blood Rush and scale your melee combo.

Mire Passive

Slam attacks with this weapon have a chance of inflicting a Toxin status ailment. This is in addition to any other status proc(s) that naturally occur when you strike targets. Status chance does not influence this proc chance.

The Coda version of the Mire features enhanced base damage, critical stats, status chance, and comes with a progenitor bonus. All Coda weapons purchased from Eleanor come with an additional damage type that makes up 24-60 percent of the weapon's total damage. This is in addition to the base damage stats we listed earlier, which means with a perfect roll, a Coda Mire deals over twice as much damage as the base Mire.

Mire Builds

We'll be looking at two builds for the Mire today, one for newer Tenno and another that's better suited for endgame Steel Path content. As stat sticks are no longer a thing in Warframe, both builds are focused on making the Mire a strong melee weapon.

If you're looking to make a Warframe's melee-focused abilities stronger, you can now mod that Warframe's exalted weapon to gain the same effect; the Mire is no longer required to min-max certain Warframes.

Starter Build

This build focuses on making the Mire a solid workhorse weapon for Star Chart content and Sorties. It won't perform great in Arbitrations until you get Primed mods, but you should have stronger melee options at that point that are better suited for higher investment.

Use any Stance mod you can get your hands on. We use Swooping Falcon in the image above, but anything works here.

We start by scaling our base damage through Point Strike and Spoiled Strike, increasing your base damage by over 200 percent. To make up for the slower attack speed, we use Quickening and Fury. Since we can't scale critical damage, our next source of damage will come from elemental mods. Toxic Blight is amazing if you can get your hands on it, granting 100 percent bonus Toxin damage and free Syndicate procs for killing enemies. If you don't have this mod, Fever Strike works just as well.

You'll then want to combine your Toxin damage with another element to create a combined element. We recommend Corrosive by using an electric mod like Shocking Touch, but you ideally want the combined element to exploit the vulnerability of whichever faction you'll be facing. Volcanic Edge gives you easy access to another strong element: Heat. Wrap up the build with Reach to make the weapon a little easier to use.

Since the Coda variant of the Mire has significantly better critical stats, we can now spec the weapon for critical hits. Blood Rush and Galvanized Steel (or Sacrificial) grant a substantial critical chance bonus to this weapon. Scale your critical multiplier with Organ Shatter, and you'll be dealing some absurd damage once your combo is ramped up.

You'll want to use different elemental combos for this build. We're using Primed Fever Strike and Vicious Frost to create Viral, debuffing targets to take increased HP damage. Volcanic Edge is still used on its own to create Heat. Since you're using a Lich weapon, you can get a progenitor bonus that is a combined element, such as Magnetic or Radiation, to inflict an extra status ailment on the target.

This will ramp up Condition Overload's base damage multiplier, giving your weapon some absurd damage output once you've struck a target a few times. Slam attacks will deal intrinsic Toxin, and you can use Melee Exposure for free Corrosive damage as well. Throw all of these things together, and you have a melee weapon that can pump out some amazing damage once you've built up your combo meter.
