Elamein is the third human boss fight in The First Berserker: Khazan, and arguably one of the sadder unavoidable fights for Khazan. In the village of El Ravaca, Elamein is taken by a vortex of chaotic energy, calling out for the general to save her. Khazan makes his way through the village, to the underground lab facility where tests are being done on different citizens of the empire.

This guide will walk you through Elamein's boss fight and give you tips, strategies and more to aid you in completing the fight within Normal Mode without swapping to the easier difficulty. By completing this guide you'll be able to progress in Khazan's story as well as collect the Achievement: No Turning Back

Phase 1

Elamein Patterns

• Shield Absorb: Elamein will raise her glowing shield to block incoming attacks and empower her own. Be wary when you go to punish her as she will raise her shield and stand strong.
• Shield Bash: Elamein will raise her shield and charge at Khazan. At times, she will attempt a second bash. If she does, Brink Guard temporarily stuns her for some easy hits.
• Spinning Sword Slash: Elamein will jump into the air and spin while slashing her sword. She can do this up to 2 times per use. Dodge Left or Right. Do not dodge backwards as her sword will catch you.
• Electrified Ground Slam: Elamein will jump in the air and slam her shield into the ground in an AOE burst.
• Electric Burst: Elamein will power up as electricity gathers around her in a wide circle before releasing in all directions. Dodge as far away from her as you can to bait out a follow-up shield bash and avoid heavy damage.
• Electric Thrust: Elamein pulls back her sword before thrusting it towards Khazan, a sound cue will indicate when to dodge sideways along with a brief weapon glow.
• Electric Multi Swing Combo: The boss will swing wildly at Khazan 7–10 times in a row. Dodge each time out of her reach to avoid any damage. You can also attempt to block, but if you run out of stamina too early, you'll lose a large chunk of health as a result.

Elamein during Phase 1 is straight forward and less complex than previous human bosses, though her shield is the main issue. If you hit her shield while it's up, the shield will glow, indicating her moves have been powered up for a time. Make a point to watch her moves after she attacks to avoid making her stronger, as this empowered buff will stagger you in your attempts. Her pattern takes some getting used to as her movements are delayed and with little rhythm compared to more predictable early fights.

After she charges, try and dodge around to her back and attack her from behind as it will take the boss a few moments to turn around and bash you away with her shield. This also works when her shield is raised, as she will not gain any power absorption from attacks that aren't directly hitting her shield. Exhaust her stamina and prioritize dodging over blocks, similar to Maluca, Elamein can also be considered a stamina and skill check for players who let their guard down.

Phase 2

At 50% health, Elamein will strike her shield and imbue her attacks with electricity, take a Lightning Resistance Potion and be ready to use Lightning Cleanse Potions as needed. Her moves going forward will build up lightning on the character, so dodging will be more beneficial over blocking and counter-attack in this phase. Bait out her Shield Bash attacks and wide arc swings to deal chip damage to whittle down her health, though as her health depletes, she will raise her shield more often and her movements will quicken, so as much as possible dodge around to Elamein's back to avoid the shield absorption.

Elamein tries and fails to resist the chaos as the Blade Phantom comments that it very nearly consumed her, with Khazan lamenting that he had failed to save yet another ally, vowing that the Empire will pay for what it has done. For now, you will return to the Crevice, where your remaining companions will offer Khazan condolences for Elamein's passing.

You have now completed this guide and defeated Elamein's boss fight, unlocking more of Khazan's story and obtaining the achievement: No Turning Back. With Elamein gone, Khazan is ready to take on his next fight, even if it's without the presence of his first companion.
