Five quality levels exist, each denoted by a colored star:

Quality Levels in Hyland City

Product quality (except meth) is adjustable. Meth quality depends solely on the pseudoephedrine used.

Quality is controlled through additives and drying. Growing plants with additives or using a drying rack affects the final product's quality.

Very Low Quality

Achieved using PGR and Speed Grow, resulting in a red star. Yields a larger harvest but significantly lower quality. Specific customers like Geraldine and Genghis Barn accept this quality. Without additives, this quality is rare.

Poor Quality Using PGR or Speed Grow (or low-quality pseudo for meth) results in a green star. However, adding fertilizer alongside PGR or Speed Grow produces standard quality. Switching to standard pseudo is needed for standard-quality meth.

Standard Quality

The default quality (blue star) for plants without additives. Many early and mid-game customers prefer this level.

Premium Quality

Achieved by using fertilizer on plants (without PGR or Speed Grow), resulting in a purple star. Premium pseudoephedrine is required for premium-quality meth.

Heavenly Quality

The highest quality (yellow star), achieved by drying products on a drying rack. Generally satisfies all customers.
