Speaking of font-family in CSS, I believe many friends use it frequently, but I don’t know what you would do when you encounter a reference to a Chinese font?
I paid special attention recently and found that there are basically three most commonly used types:
The first two forms are easy to understand. What does the unicode code mean? Let’s look at the basic definition below:
Unicode (Unicode, Universal Code, Unicode) is a character encoding used on computers. It sets a unified and unique binary encoding for each character in each language to meet the requirements for cross-language and cross-platform text conversion and processing. For more information, please see Baidu Encyclopedia’s introduction to Unicode.
After introducing the solution, let’s talk about its use. I was reading an article written by Uncle Yu before, "How to write Chinese fonts in CSS" and it was mentioned: The Song Dynasty used in font-family "is represented by unicode, not SimSun, because some versions of Firefox are not compatible with Opera." Support SimSun's writing method". I searched for relevant content on the Internet, and most of them were excerpts from this article. There was no mention of which versions of Firefox and Opera would support English writing.
In comparison, the three methods each have their own advantages and disadvantages: the Chinese form is convenient for memory, but it cannot be displayed normally on systems or encoding pages that do not support Chinese; the English form is compatible with system and encoding issues, but is inconvenient Memory may have potential risks; Unicode code has the best compatibility, but it also has the problem of difficulty in memory.
After a comprehensive trade-off, it is still recommended to use unicode code under the conditions of performance and security first. If it is not too strict, you can choose the other two.
