1. This year’s plan has been released. The PHP 7 schedule RFC vote has been passed, and PHP 7 will be released in October 2015. Despite some delays, we're excited for it to be released within this year. The detailed schedule of PHP 7 can be found here.
2. PHP is going to be on the spaceship. PHP will launch a new project to facilitate the control of pilots such as TIE fighters and spaceships. It can be used for a large number of combinatorial comparisons and sorting processes. For more information click here.
3. Return type description and parameter type hint. PHP 7 will allow developers to describe what return type they want - similar to parameter type hints.
4. PHP 7 will be faster! PHP 7 is based on the PHPNG project (PHP Next-Gen), which allows Zend to accelerate PHP applications and greatly improve the performance of PHP 7!
5. Anytime, anywhere, faster and faster. Since PHPNG was open sourced and merged into PHP 7, its performance has increased exponentially and will continue to improve.
