PHP 5.0.0 and PHP 4.0.38 were released simultaneously on July 13, 2004. This is great news for us PHP lovers. The long-awaited PHP5 is finally out, and we can further enjoy the new functions of PHP and the fun of using and developing it.
I also used PHP5 for the first time. Here is a brief introduction to my installation process (only the installation under the apache server) to share with friends who love PHP.
In fact, there is nothing new in the installation process of PHP5, it is similar to PHP4.
1. CGI mode
1. Unzip php-5.0.0-Win32.zip to x:php, rename php.ini-dist to php.ini, and copy to x:winnt (x:windows) or the installation folder of apache. Copy x:phpphp5ts.dll to the installation folder of winnt (windows), winntsystem32 or apache.
2. Modify Apache’s httpd.conf file. Add the following lines:
ScriptAlias /php/ "x:/php/"
AddType application/x-httpd-php .php
Action application/x-httpd-php "/php/php- cgi.exe"
3. Modify php.ini. Set cgi.force_redirect = 0
2. Module approach
1. Same as above 1.
2. Change the above 2 to:
LoadModule php5_module php5apache.dll
AddModule mod_php5.c
AddType application/x-httpd-php .php
Don’t do step 3 above
Note: If it is Apache2, you do not need to add the above AddModule mod_php5.c to http.conf.
3. Module expansion
After completing the above process, the installation is basically complete, but if you want to use its extended functions, you have to configure it again. For example using mysql.
1. Set up php.ini. Generally, "include_path = " and "extension_dir =" need to be set, especially the latter. The path is customized and generally contains at least x:php and x:phpext. To set "extension=", generally remove the preceding ";" sign.
2. Copy the corresponding dll file to the installation folder of winnt (windows), winntsystem32 or apache.
Take loading mysql as an example to explain: modify php.ini, configure extension_dir = "x:phpext", remove the ";" in front of extension=php_mysql.dll, copy x:phplibmysql.dll to winnt (windows), or winntsystem32 Or the installation folder of apache.
Note that after configuration or modification at any time, you need to restart the web server to take effect. All php4 programs can run. The x in the above path represents the partition, please replace it yourself.
I installed it under win2k and apache1.3.31.
