FAQ
The VS version I am using is VS2008 and I encountered the following problems.
Get the specified version
Sometimes what we need is not the latest version. For example, I want to download the 1.20 version of nignx. First, I look for the version number of 1.20 here. Soon I find it is f582d662cc408eb7a132c21f4b298b71d0701abb. The following execution sequence You can get the specified version:
"stdint.h": No such file or directory
This problem is easy to solve, just download the missing header file. https://code.google.com/p/msinttypes/
After decompression, put the header file directory under C:Program FilesMicrosoft Visual Studio 9.0VCinclude (or a similar directory).
“openssl/ssl.h”: No such file or directory
When executing nmake -f objs/Makefile , such a problem may occur. We see such a path (objs/lib/openssl-1.0.1e/openssl/include), but it actually does not exist. The solution is to change openssl-1.0.1e/openssl to openssl-1.0.1e.
Or directly modify the configuration of the generated Makefile
Unable to open the file "objs/lib/openssl-1.0.1e/lib/ssleay32.lib"
I don’t know why the nginx project does not generate openssl library, I solved this problem by compiling and generating openssl separately. The steps are as follows:
- Install perl (I use ActivePerl)
- Extract openssl to the C drive, cd C:openssl-1.0.1e
- Execute perl Configure VC-WIN32
- Run cmd, change *"C:Program FilesMicrosoft Visual Studio 9.0VCvcvarsall.BAT”* Pull it into cmd and run
- Execute msdo_ms in cmd
- Execute nmake -f msntdll.mak in cmd
Okay, put the manually generated libeay32.lib and ssleay32.lib into the directory nginx /objs/lib/openssl-1.0.1e. problem solved.
error C2220: Warning is treated as error – "object" file is not generated
Remove the -WX field of CFLAGS, then regenerate the Makefile and recompile
fatal error C1010 : Unexpected end-of-file encountered while looking for precompiled headers. Did you forget to add "#include "ngx_config.h""?
Problems encountered in the development of windows modules. The first line of code in each source file must be added #include "ngx_config.h"*. If you don't want to do this, just compile the parameters*- Remove Yungx_config.h.
Completely compile every time
When executing this line of code nmake -f objs/Makefile, it must be fully compiled every time, which is a waste of time. In this way, there is a line in the file objs/Makefile:
ssh.h The file depends on objs/Makefile*, but if the modification time of the former is always earlier than that of the latter, the following commands will always be executed. Just remove the string *objs/Makefile
Summary of operation process
- “C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 9.0\VC\vcvarsall.bat”
- “C:\MinGW\msys\1.0\msys.bat”
- cd /c/nginx
- 生成makefile
- nmake -f objs/Makefile
- 启动nginx

How to confirm whether Nginx is started: 1. Use the command line: systemctl status nginx (Linux/Unix), netstat -ano | findstr 80 (Windows); 2. Check whether port 80 is open; 3. Check the Nginx startup message in the system log; 4. Use third-party tools, such as Nagios, Zabbix, and Icinga.

How to configure an Nginx domain name on a cloud server: Create an A record pointing to the public IP address of the cloud server. Add virtual host blocks in the Nginx configuration file, specifying the listening port, domain name, and website root directory. Restart Nginx to apply the changes. Access the domain name test configuration. Other notes: Install the SSL certificate to enable HTTPS, ensure that the firewall allows port 80 traffic, and wait for DNS resolution to take effect.

Starting an Nginx server requires different steps according to different operating systems: Linux/Unix system: Install the Nginx package (for example, using apt-get or yum). Use systemctl to start an Nginx service (for example, sudo systemctl start nginx). Windows system: Download and install Windows binary files. Start Nginx using the nginx.exe executable (for example, nginx.exe -c conf\nginx.conf). No matter which operating system you use, you can access the server IP

Steps to start Nginx in Linux: Check whether Nginx is installed. Use systemctl start nginx to start the Nginx service. Use systemctl enable nginx to enable automatic startup of Nginx at system startup. Use systemctl status nginx to verify that the startup is successful. Visit http://localhost in a web browser to view the default welcome page.

In Linux, use the following command to check whether Nginx is started: systemctl status nginx judges based on the command output: If "Active: active (running)" is displayed, Nginx is started. If "Active: inactive (dead)" is displayed, Nginx is stopped.

How to configure Nginx in Windows? Install Nginx and create a virtual host configuration. Modify the main configuration file and include the virtual host configuration. Start or reload Nginx. Test the configuration and view the website. Selectively enable SSL and configure SSL certificates. Selectively set the firewall to allow port 80 and 443 traffic.

How to fix Nginx 403 Forbidden error? Check file or directory permissions; 2. Check .htaccess file; 3. Check Nginx configuration file; 4. Restart Nginx. Other possible causes include firewall rules, SELinux settings, or application issues.

The methods that can query the Nginx version are: use the nginx -v command; view the version directive in the nginx.conf file; open the Nginx error page and view the page title.
