GPU visual computing ga1 specification family instance, using AMD's S7150 series GPU. Alibaba Cloud and AMD have cooperated to optimize the GPU driver. You need to use the pre-installed driver image in the image market, which are:

Ubuntu 16.04 version pre-installed AMD GPU driver

Windows Server 2016 Chinese version is pre-installed with AMD GPU driver

Ubuntu16.04 (pre-installed with AMD driver and KDE desktop system)

Create an instance

You can Create an instance of the ga1 specification family according to the description of creating an ECS instance. When choosing a configuration, you need to pay attention to the following points:

Network: Select Private Network. Because currently GPU rendering ga1 specification family instances only support private networks (VPC).

Example: Select Heterogeneous Computing GPU/FPGA > GPU Graphics Acceleration > GPU rendering type ga1.

: Select the mirror market and click the selection of the mirror market (including the operating system). Enter GPU or AMD in the image market pop-up box to search for an image.

Notes

1. The driver used by the GPU visual computing ga1 instance is an optimized version of the driver provided by Alibaba Cloud and AMD. , currently only outputs externally through the image provided by Alibaba Cloud, does not provide a download link for the driver, and does not currently support customers to install the driver by themselves.

2. If uninstalling or deleting the GPU driver-related components causes the driver to not work properly, you need to restore the GPU-related functions by replacing the system disk. warn This operation will cause data loss.

3. When creating a GPU visual computing ga1 instance, selecting another image will cause the instance driver to not work properly. The user needs to reselect the image with the pre-installed AMD GPU driver by replacing the system disk.

4. For Windows systems, after the GPU driver installation takes effect, the remote connection function of the Alibaba Cloud console is unavailable, and the management terminal always displays a black screen or stays on the startup interface. Please enter the system through other protocols, such as Remote Desktop Connection (RDP) that comes with Windows.

5. The Remote Connection (RDP) protocol that comes with Windows does not support DirectX, OpenGL and other related applications. You need to install the VNC service and client yourself, or other supported protocols, such as PCOIP, XenDeskop HDX 3D, etc. .
