How to send email in php? This article will introduce you to how to use PHPMailer SMTP to send emails, so that you can understand how to configure and use PHPMailer. It has certain reference value. Friends in need can refer to it. I hope it will be helpful to you.

PHPMailer is a popular PHP email sending library. It supports sending mail via mail() function or SMTP. In short, PHPMailer is an efficient way to send emails in a PHP-based environment.

Let’s take a look

Step 1 - Collect PHPMailer details

To use PHPMailer with Hostinger SMTP, First you need to create an email account. You can do this in the Email Accounts section of your web host panel.

You should now have four sections , they are:

1, email account username

2, email account password

3, SMTP host

4, SMTP port

Step 2 - Install PHPMailer

Now that we have all the required details, we can start the PHPMailer setup. An easy way is to use Composer. It comes pre-installed on our shared hosting plans, so all you have to do is connect via SSH and execute the following command:

cd public_html
Copy after login

Then run:

composer require phpmailer/phpmailer
Copy after login

Wait a moment for the installation to complete and PHPMailer will Appears in the newly created directory.

Step 3 - Understanding PHPMailer

To understand PHPMailer and how it works, let’s examine an example of delivery using SMTP.

<?php
use PHPMailer\PHPMailer\PHPMailer;
require &#39;../vendor/autoload.php&#39;;
$mail = new PHPMailer;
$mail->isSMTP();
$mail->SMTPDebug = 2;
$mail->Host = &#39;mx1.hostinger.com&#39;;
$mail->Port = 587;
$mail->SMTPAuth = true;
$mail->Username = &#39;test@hostinger-tutorials.com&#39;;
$mail->Password = &#39;EMAIL_ACCOUNT_PASSWORD&#39;;
$mail->setFrom(&#39;test@hostinger-tutorials.com&#39;, &#39;Your Name&#39;);
$mail->addReplyTo(&#39;reply-box@hostinger-tutorials.com&#39;, &#39;Your Name&#39;);
$mail->addAddress(&#39;example@gmail.com&#39;, &#39;Receiver Name&#39;);
$mail->Subject = &#39;PHPMailer SMTP message&#39;;
$mail->msgHTML(file_get_contents(&#39;message.html&#39;), __DIR__);
$mail->AltBody = &#39;This is a plain text message body&#39;;
$mail->addAttachment(&#39;test.txt&#39;);
if (!$mail->send()) {
    echo &#39;Mailer 错误: &#39; . $mail->ErrorInfo;
} else {
    echo &#39;发送消息!&#39;;
}
?>
Copy after login

Let’s see what each component does:

Pro Tip:

SMTPDebug = 2 ; Useful when testing a script and seeing how it works.

Set this to SMTPDebug = 0; in the final build to avoid end users seeing SMTP delivery reports.

If you inspect the entire code, you'll notice that we're doing something a little different than in the first example. We are sending HTML messages. Its content will be taken from the message.html file located in the same directory. This allows you to format text and provides more functionality than plain text messages.

Step 4 - Run the PHPMailer Script

Let’s create a testphpmailer.php file and fill in all the fields with the SMTP details we retrieved earlier. Execute the script by typing YourDomain.com/testphpmailer.php into your browser and you will see a message similar to:

Step 5 - PHPMailer Contact Form Example

You can use PHPMailer for more than just sending simple messages. One way you can take advantage of this is to create a contact form where your visitors or users can contact you. Here is a basic example of such a script:

<?php
use PHPMailer\PHPMailer\PHPMailer;
require &#39;../vendor/autoload.php&#39;;
    $mail = new PHPMailer;
    $mail->isSMTP();
    $mail->Host = &#39;mx1.hostinger.com&#39;;
    $mail->Port = 587;
    $mail->SMTPAuth = true;
    $mail->Username = &#39;test@hostinger-tutorials.com&#39;;
    $mail->Password = &#39;EMAIL_ACCOUNT_PASSWORD&#39;;
    $mail->setFrom(&#39;test@hostinger-tutorials.com&#39;, &#39;Mr. Drago&#39;);
    $mail->addAddress(&#39;example@gmail.com&#39;, &#39;Receiver Name&#39;);
if ($mail->addReplyTo($_POST[&#39;email&#39;], $_POST[&#39;name&#39;])) {
        $mail->Subject = &#39;PHPMailer contact form&#39;;
        $mail->isHTML(false);
        $mail->Body = <<<EOT
Email: {$_POST[&#39;email&#39;]}
Name: {$_POST[&#39;name&#39;]}
Message: {$_POST[&#39;message&#39;]}
EOT;
if (!$mail->send()) {
            $msg = &#39;对不起,出了点问题。请稍后再试。&#39;;
} else {
            $msg = &#39;发送消息成功!谢谢您联络我们。&#39;;
}
} else {
        $msg = &#39;电子邮件地址无效,邮件被忽略。&#39;;
}
?>
<!DOCTYPE html>
<html lang="en">
<head>
    <meta charset="UTF-8">
    <title>邮件表单</title>
</head>
<body>
<h1 id="Let-s-nbsp-get-nbsp-in-nbsp-touch">Let&#39;s get in touch!</h1>
<?php if (!empty($msg)) {
    echo "<h2 id="msg">$msg</h2>";
} ?>
<form method="POST">
    <label for="name">名称: <input type="text" name="name" id="name"></label><br><br>

    <label for="email">电子邮件: <input type="email" name="email" id="email"></label><br><br>

    <label for="message">消息:<textarea name="message" id="message" rows="8" cols="20"></textarea></label><br><br>
    <input type="submit" value="发送">
</form>
</body>
</html>
Copy after login

The final result is:

JWT is an open standard based on JSON, used to securely transmit information between parties, mainly for identity authentication and information exchange. 1. JWT consists of three parts: Header, Payload and Signature. 2. The working principle of JWT includes three steps: generating JWT, verifying JWT and parsing Payload. 3. When using JWT for authentication in PHP, JWT can be generated and verified, and user role and permission information can be included in advanced usage. 4. Common errors include signature verification failure, token expiration, and payload oversized. Debugging skills include using debugging tools and logging. 5. Performance optimization and best practices include using appropriate signature algorithms, setting validity periods reasonably,
