What is c/s mode

What is c/s mode?

C/S mode refers to the client/server mode, which is a mode for computer software to work together.

Due to the rise of web browsers, the B/S model gradually replaced the C/S model and was more widely used. With the maturity and popularization of computer network technology, especially the development of local area networks and the emergence of PCs, more and more users and enterprises have begun to use computers to manage some affairs.

PCs do not have as many resources as large, medium or even small hosts, but connecting multiple PCs into a network will inevitably increase the resource content, and all users will share all resources on the network. According to the concept of client/server (Client/Server abbreviated as C/S) architecture, at least two computers are used to act as client and server respectively.

The client can be a fan of X86 system or a workstation of RISC system, etc., while the server-side hardware is generally relatively high-end, such as: high-end PC server or SUN dedicated server; the operating system is also relatively high-end, such as: Windows NT and Unix.

Extended information

The C/S model has the following characteristics:

1. The C/S model separates applications from services. Has stability and flexibility.

2. The C/S mode is equipped with a point-to-point structure mode, which is suitable for local area networks and has reliable security.

3. Since the client realizes direct connection with the server, there is no intermediate link, so the response speed is fast.

4. In the C/S mode, the client computer must install the client program. Once the software system is upgraded, each client computer must install the client program, making system upgrade and maintenance more complicated.
