What is ppt?

The operating environment of this tutorial: Windows 10 system, Microsoft Office PowerPoint 2019 version, DELL G3 computer.

Microsoft PowerPoint, referred to as PowerPoint, is a presentation program developed by Microsoft Corporation and is one of the components in the Microsoft Office system. It supports Microsoft Windows as well as Apple's Mac OS X operating system. The latest versions are Microsoft PowerPoint 2019 for Windows and 2016 for Mac.

In Microsoft PowerPoint, like most other presentation software, text, images, videos, and other objects are placed on individual pages or "slides." The "slide" analog is a reference object, equivalent to a slide projector. With the use of PowerPoint and other presentation software, slide projectors are becoming increasingly obsolete. Slides can be printed or (often) projected on a screen and navigated at the presenter's command. Transition types between slides can be specified to animate in a variety of ways, just as they appear on the slides themselves. The overall presentation design can be controlled by the masterboard; from the overall structure to the text of each slide, thumbnails can be used to edit. Presentation file formats that can be stored and run are as follows:

.ppt (PowerPoint 97-2003 file)

.pot (PowerPoint 97-2003 template)

.pps (PowerPoint 97-2003 Show)

.pptx (PowerPoint File)

.pptm (PowerPoint Macro-Enabled File)

.potx (PowerPoint Template)

.potm (PowerPoint macro-enabled template)

.ppsx (PowerPoint show)

.ppsm (PowerPoint macro-enabled show)
