Two common ways to set display volume in PHP

Apr 06, 2023 am 08:54 AM

PHP is a widely used open source scripting language for Web programming. It has the advantages of being simple to learn, easy to maintain and easy to expand. In website development, impressions refer to the number of times ads, pages, content, etc. are displayed in front of users. In this article, we will discuss how to set impressions using PHP.

First of all, we need to understand how impression volume is calculated. The amount of impressions is calculated based on the number of visits to the web page. That is to say, every time a page is visited, the advertisements, content, etc. on the page will be displayed once. Therefore, the number of impressions can be equated to the number of page views or the number of visits.

Next, we will introduce two common methods of setting display volume in PHP.

Method 1: Using Cookie

Cookie is a small file that stores user status information on the website. You can use PHP to set cookies to achieve impression statistics. The code example is as follows:

$count = 0;

if(isset($_COOKIE["impressions"])){
  $count = $_COOKIE["impressions"];
}

$count++;

setcookie("impressions", $count, time() + 3600 * 24);
Copy after login

In the above code, first determine whether a cookie already exists. If it exists, the value is assigned to the $count variable; if it does not exist, the value of $count is set to 0. Then, increase the value of $count by 1 and store it in a cookie, which is valid for 24 hours.

Method 2: Use the database

In addition to using cookies to achieve display statistics, you can also use a database. The code example is as follows:

//连接数据库
$conn = mysqli_connect("localhost", "user", "password", "database");

//查询当前展现量
$query = "SELECT count FROM impressions WHERE id = 1";
$result = mysqli_query($conn, $query);
$row = mysqli_fetch_assoc($result);

//更新展现量
$count = $row["count"] + 1;
$query = "UPDATE impressions SET count = $count WHERE id = 1";
mysqli_query($conn, $query);
Copy after login

In the above code, first use the mysqli_connect() function to connect to the database. Then, use the SELECT statement to query the current impression volume and store the query results in the $row array. Next, increase the impression amount by 1 and store it in the database using an UPDATE statement.

Whether using cookies or databases, you need to call the function or code segment for display statistics when the page is displayed. For example, you can display the impression volume of the current page at the bottom of the page:

<p>当前页面的展现量是:<?php echo $count; ?></p>
Copy after login

Summary

The above introduces two methods of setting the impression amount using PHP: using cookies and using a database. No matter which method is used, the statistical function or code segment of the display volume needs to be called when the page is displayed. The statistics of impression volume are very important for both website operation and advertising marketing. I hope this article can be helpful to you.

Explain JSON Web Tokens (JWT) and their use case in PHP APIs. Explain JSON Web Tokens (JWT) and their use case in PHP APIs. Apr 05, 2025 am 12:04 AM

JWT is an open standard based on JSON, used to securely transmit information between parties, mainly for identity authentication and information exchange. 1. JWT consists of three parts: Header, Payload and Signature. 2. The working principle of JWT includes three steps: generating JWT, verifying JWT and parsing Payload. 3. When using JWT for authentication in PHP, JWT can be generated and verified, and user role and permission information can be included in advanced usage. 4. Common errors include signature verification failure, token expiration, and payload oversized. Debugging skills include using debugging tools and logging. 5. Performance optimization and best practices include using appropriate signature algorithms, setting validity periods reasonably,

The application of SOLID principle in PHP development includes: 1. Single responsibility principle (SRP): Each class is responsible for only one function. 2. Open and close principle (OCP): Changes are achieved through extension rather than modification. 3. Lisch's Substitution Principle (LSP): Subclasses can replace base classes without affecting program accuracy. 4. Interface isolation principle (ISP): Use fine-grained interfaces to avoid dependencies and unused methods. 5. Dependency inversion principle (DIP): High and low-level modules rely on abstraction and are implemented through dependency injection.

Static binding (static::) implements late static binding (LSB) in PHP, allowing calling classes to be referenced in static contexts rather than defining classes. 1) The parsing process is performed at runtime, 2) Look up the call class in the inheritance relationship, 3) It may bring performance overhead.
