Let's talk about the difference between jquery and mvvm

Apr 10, 2023 am 09:47 AM

jQuery and MVVM are two different technologies in front-end development. jQuery is a JavaScript library, and MVVM is an architectural pattern. While they both help build interactive and dynamic web applications, they have many differences.

1. Purpose

The purpose of jQuery is to more conveniently use JavaScript to operate the DOM and handle events. By adding some simplified APIs, encapsulating some common operations, and solving browser compatibility issues, jQuery makes front-end development easier.

The purpose of MVVM is to decouple view (View) and data (Model), making development easier to maintain. MVVM separates data from views and interacts with them through ViewModel. Data changes are automatically reflected in the views.

2. Application scenarios

jQuery is mainly used for DOM operations, event processing, Ajax requests, etc. It is suitable for simple applications with a single page, such as building personal blogs, corporate official websites, etc.

MVVM is suitable for large web applications because it provides better modularity and maintainability. For example, when you need to change a module, you only need to adjust the ViewModel of the module without having to operate the view and data layers.

3. Programming style

jQuery mainly adopts the imperative programming style, that is, tasks can be completed through multiple API methods. For example, select an element with a selector and then use the .css() function to style it.

MVVM adopts a declarative/functional programming style, that is, defining functions through declarative statements. For example, by defining a binding expression, then parsing the value of the expression in the ViewModel, and then reflecting the value to the View.

4. Data flow

In jQuery, data flow is mainly one-way. When the user manipulates a DOM element, jQuery reads data from the DOM and then changes the corresponding element using the jQuery API.

In MVVM, data flow is bidirectional. When the user changes data in the ViewModel, the data is transformed and updated into the view, and vice versa.

To sum up, both jQuery and MVVM have their unique uses. jQuery is mainly suitable for those small, simple applications, while MVVM is suitable for those large, maintainable, modular web applications. At the same time, the programming styles and data flows of jQuery and MVVM are also very different, which also affects the use of these two technologies. Therefore, developers should choose the appropriate technology based on actual needs.

React's Role in HTML: Enhancing User Experience React's Role in HTML: Enhancing User Experience Apr 09, 2025 am 12:11 AM

React combines JSX and HTML to improve user experience. 1) JSX embeds HTML to make development more intuitive. 2) The virtual DOM mechanism optimizes performance and reduces DOM operations. 3) Component-based management UI to improve maintainability. 4) State management and event processing enhance interactivity.

What are the limitations of Vue 2's reactivity system with regard to array and object changes? What are the limitations of Vue 2's reactivity system with regard to array and object changes? Mar 25, 2025 pm 02:07 PM

Vue 2's reactivity system struggles with direct array index setting, length modification, and object property addition/deletion. Developers can use Vue's mutation methods and Vue.set() to ensure reactivity.

React Components: Creating Reusable Elements in HTML React Components: Creating Reusable Elements in HTML Apr 08, 2025 pm 05:53 PM

React components can be defined by functions or classes, encapsulating UI logic and accepting input data through props. 1) Define components: Use functions or classes to return React elements. 2) Rendering component: React calls render method or executes function component. 3) Multiplexing components: pass data through props to build a complex UI. The lifecycle approach of components allows logic to be executed at different stages, improving development efficiency and code maintainability.

React and the Frontend: Building Interactive Experiences React and the Frontend: Building Interactive Experiences Apr 11, 2025 am 12:02 AM

React is the preferred tool for building interactive front-end experiences. 1) React simplifies UI development through componentization and virtual DOM. 2) Components are divided into function components and class components. Function components are simpler and class components provide more life cycle methods. 3) The working principle of React relies on virtual DOM and reconciliation algorithm to improve performance. 4) State management uses useState or this.state, and life cycle methods such as componentDidMount are used for specific logic. 5) Basic usage includes creating components and managing state, and advanced usage involves custom hooks and performance optimization. 6) Common errors include improper status updates and performance issues, debugging skills include using ReactDevTools and Excellent

Functional components in Vue.js are stateless, lightweight, and lack lifecycle hooks, ideal for rendering pure data and optimizing performance. They differ from stateful components by not having state or reactivity, using render functions directly, a

React vs. Backend Frameworks: A Comparison React vs. Backend Frameworks: A Comparison Apr 13, 2025 am 12:06 AM

React is a front-end framework for building user interfaces; a back-end framework is used to build server-side applications. React provides componentized and efficient UI updates, and the backend framework provides a complete backend service solution. When choosing a technology stack, project requirements, team skills, and scalability should be considered.
