An example explains how to use PHP to implement a data verification function

Apr 12, 2023 pm 01:58 PM

In web development, data verification is an essential process. In PHP development, verification components provided by third-party libraries or frameworks are usually used to complete data verification operations. However, sometimes we need to customize data validation rules according to our own needs, and then we need to use PHP's own implementation to complete data validation.

1. Understanding data verification

Data verification refers to judging the input data to determine whether they meet the expected rules or requirements. In web development, data verification has two purposes: one is to ensure that the data entered by the user is available and valid, and the other is to prevent malicious attacks. If we do not verify the entered data, it is very likely that the data entered by the user will have an impact on the entire application, thus affecting the stable operation of the application.

2. Define model classes

In PHP, we can use classes to implement data verification. At this time we need to define a model class to describe the data model we want to verify and specify the verification rules we want to use.

Let’s look at an example:

class UserModel {

    public $id;
    public $username;
    public $password;

    /**
     * 验证规则
     */
    public function rules()
    {
        return [
            [['username', 'password'], 'required'],
            [['id'], 'integer']
        ];
    }

}
Copy after login

In the above code, we define a UserModel class and define three attributes $id, $username, $password in this class , corresponding to user id, user name and password respectively.

In this class, we also define a rules() method, which returns an array. Each element in the array represents a verification rule. In this validation rule, we use the two rules required and integer.

3. Implement data verification

After defining the model class, the next step is to implement the data verification operation. The steps to implement data verification are as follows:

  1. Get the data to be verified
  2. Get the verification rules
  3. Verify each data one by one
  4. Return the verification results

Let’s take a look at the code implementation:

class Validate {

    /**
     * 模型数据验证
     *
     * @param object $model
     * @return bool
     */
    public function validate($model)
    {
        // 获取验证规则
        $rules = $model->rules();

        // 遍历每个验证规则
        foreach ($rules as $rule) {

            // 获取要验证的属性名以及验证规则
            $attributes = array_shift($rule);
            $validator = array_shift($rule);

            // 遍历要验证的属性
            foreach ($attributes as $attribute) {

                // 获取属性对应的值
                $value = $model->$attribute;

                // 根据验证规则进行验证
                switch ($validator) {
                    case "required":
                        if (empty($value)) {
                            return false;
                        }
                        break;
                    case "email":
                        if (!filter_var($value, FILTER_VALIDATE_EMAIL)) {
                            return false;
                        }
                        break;
                    case "integer":
                        if (!is_numeric($value)) {
                            return false;
                        }
                        break;
                    default:
                        if (!preg_match($validator, $value)) {
                            return false;
                        }
                        break;
                }
            }
        }

        return true;
    }

}
Copy after login

In the above code, we define a Validate class, which has a validate() method to implement data validation.

In this method, we first obtain the data model ($model) and validation rules ($rules) to be verified. Then, we iterate through each validation rule and use the shift() function to obtain the attribute name ($attributes) and validation rule ($validator) to be validated respectively.

After obtaining the attribute name to be verified, we then traverse these attributes, obtain the corresponding value of the attribute and verify it. During the verification process for each attribute, we use the switch statement to verify whether the attribute value meets the requirements according to the verification rules.

Finally, we return true or false based on the verification result.

4. Use data verification

After implementing the data verification class, the next step is to use this class in the application to complete data verification.

Let’s take a look at the code implementation:

// 创建数据模型
$userModel = new UserModel();

// 设置数据
$userModel->id = 1;
$userModel->username = 'admin';
$userModel->password = '123456';

// 创建验证器实例
$validator = new Validate();

// 进行数据验证
if ($validator->validate($userModel)) {
    echo '数据验证通过!';
} else {
    echo '数据验证失败!';
}
Copy after login

In the above code, we first create a UserModel instance $userModel and set the data to be verified. We then created a Validate instance $validator and used its validate() method to validate the data in $userModel.

If the return result is true, it means that the data verification has passed; otherwise, it means that the data verification has failed.

5. Summary

Through this article, we have learned how to use custom implementation in PHP to complete data verification. By implementing a data verification class, we can flexibly define the data that needs to be verified and its corresponding verification rules, thereby better ensuring the stability and security of the application.
