In iOS 15 and later, Siri is no longer able to rate Apple Music songs upon request
When listening to songs from your music library on iPhone and iPad, you used to be able to ask ‌Siri‌ to “Rate this song out of five [or any number] stars” and the virtual assistant would Do it effortlessly.

The ability to use Siri‌ to rate songs in the ‌Apple Music‌ app was introduced back in iOS 8. Listen hands-free via CarPlay, exercise while wearing AirPods, or create rating-based smart playlists.

The feature wasn't available in ‌iOS 15‌ or iOS 15.1, and it still isn't available in the latest iOS 15.2 point release, which was released in December. Instead of executing the request, ‌Siri‌ responds with "Sorry, I'm afraid I can't do that" or some variation of that.

It's unclear whether this is an intentional change by Apple or an intermittent server-side issue that has occurred since the release of ‌iOS 15‌, but it's worth noting that both ‌iOS 15‌ and iOS 15.2 made changes to ‌Siri‌ ‌Apple Music-related feature changes interoperability, more generally at the system level.

In ‌iOS 15‌, Apple made changes to ‌Siri‌ to handle certain requests without an internet connection to more quickly recognize queries when doing things like opening apps and setting alarms and timers . Then, in iOS 15.2, the company launched the new Apple Music Voice Plan, which relies entirely on Siri‌ for music playback and user interaction.

It's unclear if any of these changes are the reason why Siri‌ is unable to rate songs upon request, but we've reached out to Apple for more information and will provide any information if we hear back. Clarify details.
